I just finished helping a friend repair their credit. In light of how the pandemic impacted CreditWorld, I am not current with CLI processes. My question is, after opening credit card accounts (specifically with BOA, Cap One, Amex, and Discover), when is one eligible to request a SP CLI, and how often are they eligible to request thereafter? Thanks in advance for all responses.
Boa usually after 3 months or when blue link shows up though havent read many cli as of late
Cap One, is sp , not sure how long to wait but wouldnt hold breathe. A few autos lately but pulling cli from Cap One seems like pulling teeth. A $100 increase is like winning the Navy $25k instant approval
Amex should be sp, recommended after 61 days but you can hit as early as 2 days lol as evidenced by recent approval, if denied gotta wait 3 months to try again, 6 months + if approved
Discover is sp, usually after 3 months of account opening is recommended but after than whenever you feel like trying. Cli isnt gaurenteed at any interval but if denied usually just a denial letter and literally can try next day if want

Thanks AJC! That was very helpful. Nice to see that you are still on Forum.

Things have definitely changed with Cap One. Perhaps my friend should consider a different option for Cap One. NFCU is a no-go since they are not eligible.

Best odds with BoA are when the blue 'request a credit limit increase' hyperlink appears as that's when the autobot has determined you're eligible to request a CLI. The 3 month figure is hugely YMMV, it can appear anywhere from a few weeks to more than a year after an attempt (rarely, it will remain after the nightly site refresh).
Hey @AverageJoesCredit,
On 09/03/20, I requested a CLI on AMEX and got a 7-10/day message (Denial, of course). I applied for another AMEX card the same day and was approved. I know AMEX has the CLI timeline across all accounts regardless of which account received it, but what would be the CLI's correct date?
Should I have CLI on 11/03/20 per the 61/day?
Should I request CLI on 12/03/20 per the 3/month?
Edit:
Applied for a CLI on the second card and got the 7-10/day message, POOP! - Could I have asked too early?
Good luck with getting those CLIs

Thanks (Artist formerly known as ColdFusion). Wow! Good to see you are still on MF too.

Thanks! Hopefully all works out. Helping them with their repair took some time, but their rebuild phase shouldn't be that tedious.
