Sam's Club app

If the Groupon promo code was used to begin a Sam's membership, do you still have to go into the store to activate the membership?  If so, would you think the pre-approval would be available in that scenario?  If no pre-approval is offered would it be possible to request it?  My guess is a preapproval request would be treated as an application and thus a HP?

I used a Groupon yesterday. I had to print the Groupon and bring into the store to sign up. That is when I got the preapproval.

You'll probably still have to go into the club to activate your membership.  As for the pre-approval, if offered, take it...but Sam's Club MasterCard seems to be one of the hardest Synch cards to get...I didn't app until I was over 720 on TU as I just didn't want the store card...and from the forums, I don't see many others getting approval for much less than a 700 TU score.  Something to think about...
