Service Credit Union - NH

Has anybody ever heard of Service Credit Union for Military members / Vets?  They say they offer credit lines up to 30K

Re: Service Credit Union - NH

Has anybody applied with them or a member of this credit union?  Curious to know how they are and if they do offer 30K limits.

Scott

You will have to become a member as you know! Its not hard....
They are just like any other Credit Union -

Getting a Credit card ....you can apply over the phone or online

Getting a Loan or Line of Credit you can apply but they will ask for 2 recent pay stubs or last 2 years tax returns.

If, you have a descend credit score...you should be ok ....when applying

I just recently joined.

I was shocked to be turned down for a personal line of credit.

They had pulled a scoring model I'd never heard of, Experian "Bankruptcy Watch". I got a 666 score even though my MyFICO EX scores ranged from 705 to 827.

I read up a little on this "Bankruptcy Watch" scoring from Experian, and it's something the lender has to pay extra for (not to mention it must be pretty stupid because there's no way on God's green earth I would be filing bankruptcy). So I would say this outfit is tightfisted, looking for excuses to turn folks down.

I'm a member now, but I wouldn't recommend them.

Wow that's strange.  Never heard of that scoring model.  Sounds like weird thing that EX would come up with.  Sorry to hear of your denial

I never heard of it either. I've learned from some of my gurus on this forum to read adverse action letters carefully, one can often learn something from them.

Here are a couple of tidbits I read about EX's "Bankruptcy Watch" product:

It also gives me the creeps about Service Credit Union.

Re: Service Credit Union - NH

Thanks for the links. Makes me wonder if any other creditor is getting that model.  Hopefully whatever risk score you received isn't going to prevent any further approvals.
