Should I App Venture.

So the past 2 months I have really made some headway growing my available credit from 2 secured cards at $600 to over $20k in prime cards.

I told my self I was done, and I don't really need anymore, but I see that I'm pre qualified for venture, and being that many on here are reporting big SL this could be a good way to have two high limit cards, my other being Amex ED @ $13,500.

Should I take advantage before the venture train stops?

My scores are all over 720 with no baddies on report. Util 6%

Amex ED 13500
Freedom 2200
CSP 5000
IT 1000
Barclay 750

Would hope for 7-10000 venture approval. Appreciate all input.

I'm sure you would get the $10k approval, minimum. But the card isn't great unless you can meet the bonus spend. Can you meet another $3k on top of what, $5,500 already?

If not, don't app.

Re: Should I App Venture.

Solid advice. I met the bonus spend on freedom and Amex ED. Was working on CSP but I'm not sure I'll be able to hit it without being creative. I won't spend just to spend. And I guess I shouldn't app just to app.

Looking to buy a house in a year and was thinking maybe the extra available credit might help build score and file more quickly.

IMO, you should forget about applying for any more cards and just garden until you close. You have some great cards & limits already so there's no need to app for the Venture if you can't meet spend.

On another note, try everything you can possibly think of to meet spend on the CSP. That's one heck of a bonus to miss out on. Do you pay rent? As a last resort, use a 3rd party vendor like RadPad or Chargesmart to pay your rent via CC for ~3% fee. The bonus more than makes up for the fee IMO!

Re: Should I App Venture.

Well i sort of pay rent, my parents have rental property and I live in one of the condos, so I pay them the HOA and Mortgage.

I wonder if i could paypal them the rent and just add extra for the transaction fee?

I really want my CSP bonus haha.

I strongly suggest you DO NOT try to use PayPal to meet ANY spend bonuses!

Would your parents be willing to use your card and give you cash for the transactions made?

Re: Should I App Venture.

OK ill put PayPal out of the picture. They might be willing to do that, Ill have a chat with them and see.

Im gonna put venture on the back burner for now, ill lett my new inq. calm down and AAoA go back up before I app anything else. I need to put some time in researching qualifying for a mortgage to determine how long ill need to wait/save.
