I have a Chase account that was closed by them about 4 years ago. It was closed with a balance of $1800; the credit limit is $1500. Now the account has a balance of $89. I paid it off slowly to help build up my credit. I have 2 charge offs (Wal Mart and Dell) that will fall off my credit in 2015, I have a captial one credit card $400 limit, no collection accounts, two auto leases (low balance ending in 1 year), a mortage, and over 60k in student loans. My credit scores across all bureuas is 645 - 675.
Over past couple of days I applied for an Amex Everyday approved for $2000 limit, Citi Diamond approved for $4000 limit, Discover It approved for $2000 limit, and a Barclays Rewards denied even after calling credit recon line.
My question is that should I apply for a Chase freedom although I have a closed account on file with them, or should I wait a couple of months? The Chase Freedom card would complete my card list.

I think you are best waiting based on some experiences here that I read. Wait for the charge offs to fall off...

Their prequalify link is pretty accurate.

Sounds like it might be in your best interest to wait a little bit. If you couldn't get the Barclay Rewards card, I don't think you will get a Freedom, since I believe the Barclay card is easier to get (could be wrong - but I think it's targeted for average credit, whereas Freedom is more for good to excellent).
My initial reaction was to tell you to wait six months, since you already got declined for a Barclays card. However, from the other posters here, it seems like this might be a special circumstance wherein, by virtue of having paid off the card, you might get it reactivated. That would be a separate event from applying and getting approved, and is worth investigating.
