I apped for CSR and got the 30 day message . its been 6 days and still pending. I have 7k in business travel that I want run through a card and was hoping to do it on CSR but Chase is taking its sweet time eventhough I had a preapproval . Long story short just got a pop up while checking my Virgin america account. Do you think this will create an issue with chase if I accept this preapproval and get the card. I hate to waste this 7k on another card. any thoughts?
If you really want that card then go for it. Two different companies and won't interfare with your Chase application.

Have you called Recon yet. Ours went pending also, but after a short 15 minute call we were approved. Basically we had to much credit under chase already. So they asked if we were willing to move some from one account to the new one.
I called them couple of times and they keep saying no further info is needed just needs further review. Ridiculous if you ask me , not applying for mortgage.
The fact that 12V says they don't give the CSR to everyone is funny. They have issued 100's of thousands of account already to the extent that they have run out of the metallic cards they initially were issuing due to demand.
7K in travel isn't anything to laugh at though either. Maybe you just need an Amex Platinum in the meantime since their benefits are about the same and the AF for both is $450/yr. Might even be able to talk Amex into the 100K/$5K/3 mo's offer with it to compete with Chase while they drag their feet on the approval.

I agree . My only gripe is why drag an applicant so long eventhough is preapproved by Chase and has been a good customer of Chase and has at least 27 year credit history with high fico's. The platinum Amex although a great card has limitations placed on travel bookings and airline credit where CSR doesn't and thats where Chase beats it IMHO. I am going through a travel agent which AMEX doesn't allow and yearly credit is airline specific which is also bad. I think AMEX will likely remove these restrictions soon or otherwise will lose lots of customers to CHASE.
