Was approved for the NFCU Cash Rewards card and it has the same rewards value as my Cap1 Quicksilver card but with a much higher limit. I was thinking about upgrading my Quicksilver to the Venture card since I don't really have a card that earns me 2x points on all purchases and that is that great of a travel card. What do you guys think should I conver the Quicksilver or just keep it??? ( I was eyeing the Barclay Arrival Plus but it has a higher anual fee and I don't really want the hard pull).
Well I guess it depends on whether you are going to use the 2x miles for miles or will you end up cashing them in for statement credit. Instead of getting the 1.5 cash back that you would get with the QS, it works out to be around 1 cash back. Also there is an annual fee of 59.00 after the first year.....Good Luck on your descision

I would use the 2x miles for travel not a statment credit. I have the new Cash Rewards from Navy Fed that I would use for the 1.5x miles instead of the Quicksilver but I don't think I would get the bonus if I pc the Quicksilver also not sure if the Venture would be a WEMC even thugh I would have a $5k+ CL
Understood...and yes you are correct, you won't get the bonus if you PC...at least I didn't. Is just applying for it an option and just having both..??

I could do that but not really wanting another HP right now. I just got in with Navy Fed and that was an HP, then getting the Cash Rewards cc was another, and the NavChek credit line was another....I guess I'll just hold off on getting it an apply later this year sometime maybe. I just don't see myself using the quicksilver now that I have the cash rewards
I would APPLY for a Venture and reap the benefits of the $400.
If your not ready for the credit pulls then I would wait until you are ready.
To upgrade to a annual fee card from a no annual fee card is not worth it for an extra 0.5%.
A hard pull is worth the free $400.
I wouldn't. You could earn an extra .5% with Venture, but that is offset by an annual fee and is redeemed for travel not everything. Also, if you ever take uber, the QS runs solid promotions. The QS is by far the better card IMHO.

I agree. Not worth doing the product conversion and dealing with the annual fee and redemption hurdles just for 0.5% more.
Wait til you're ready, sign up and get the bonus. Otherwise just keep your hassle free QS.

1. I don't think you can PC it, I think you just have to apply for it.
2. You shouldn't PC it, you should get the signing bonus etc.
3. IMHO it's a good card.
4. Later on, 6 months down the road, you could consolidate your QS limit into your Venture, but I think the QS is a card worth having.
