What about Langley?? 😉
Langley has a legitimate in, right?
Langley is open to all, by making a modest charitable contribution. Just go here and start the process:

Langley is a good, no-hassle, institution.
I don't see anything so great in their cash back cards, though, which seems to be your primary field of interest.
Thanks for confirming.
I do like their 5% credit card. My cold feet are due to the monthly rotations of the 5%. I'm used to quarters and I plan my card spend carefully 3 months at a time, 4 times per year. I'm not sure how exactly selecting these mostly unpredictable 5% cats 12 times per year will play in to my current routine. For the most part, any cat that the Langley might offer 5% in, I would already have covered if it were important to me. This month, for instance - Walmart, Wholesale, Gas. Walmart, ok, yeah, 5% in-store could be useful but I really just use walmart.com anymore and get 5% with my Cap1. No wholesale needs. Gas is covered with Disco or SYW this month. So, I don't know! I want to want it more but I just don't, lol.

In re-reading your post @ptatohed I find it to be internally contradictory.
You start out saying "I do like their 5% credit card." But finish up saying " I want to want it more but I just don't".
If you like it get it. If you don't like it don't get it.
I was denied when I recently applied for Vantage West for being out of region, so I feel your pain.

I do like it @SouthJamaica . I admire any bank or credit union that offers 5% on anything, really. And this one is unique in that it changes monthly. But I'm just keeping it on my radar for now. It could be useful, it could be redundant. I'm pretty covered and pretty content with my line-up right now. But things change.
