Synchrony Amazon CLI Request

I requested a CLI Increase and got a message that it was unavailable for immediate increase and that I would receive a letter from 7-10 days with a answer. So I was wondering if I should leave it as is or should I call the backdoor number for the credit analyst and get a answer?

I am not planning on buying anything with the new credit I just really wanted it to lower my Util Rate and to start seeing some CLI increase like I see on the forums.

My average AAoA is 6 months and I opened this card back in July 2015.

My current total credit limit is $3900 and util rate is 50% should be down to 30% when the new payments get reported.

Annual Income is $32,000~.

My current Profile is as follows:

$200 Discover (Just graduated from Secured Card this past January)

$800 Amazon Store Card

$1600 First Bank (Frys)

$800 Newegg Store Card

$500 Capital One QS1

I was thinking I might have messed up and should have applied for a CLI for Discover but then I wondered if it was too early from being graduated to requesting CLI increase. Any thoughts/tips? Thanks

Re: Synchrony Amazon CLI Request

I might be wrong but my Amazon Store card does not report the limit. On my TU report my avalible credit is missing exacty the amount of the Amazon Store Card.

Like a Visa SIG card. No CL reported, only the balace, so the util is not going to be affected even if you get the CLI.

I dont know if this is normal or not, but has been like this on my report since i opened it last year.

Re: Synchrony Amazon CLI Request

598,

It tanked ALOT (64 Points) with the small mistake I made this month of forgetting the cut off date for this card and the discover so I sent the payment after they reported my balance which was at 98%(Amazon) and 95% (Discover). That is the main reason I wanted a CLI in case I ever leave a balance by accident and it gets reported I wanted it to be lower UTIL rate.

I realise the Discover is a baby limit and want to change that but I think I might not get approved for CLI since they just recently graduated my secured account.

I'm going to stop using my discover till I get a better limit because even a pizza is like 5% of my Credit Limit. Smiley Sad

Re: Synchrony Amazon CLI Request

I didn't get a CLI until I reached 650. Went from 800 to 4000. I had to call in to request it. Was approved. Before 650 it was no dice.

Re: Synchrony Amazon CLI Request

Previous Poster ^ is probably on point about that 650 score requirement. I've had my Amazon store card for going on 6 months, always PIF or at least 3x the min., my TU is a 631, my UTIL is 13%, last negative almost a year old, and I get denied CLI's with them through luv button, chat AND credit solutions. Just gonna quit trying until my score hits 650.

Probably not going to get a CLI with that TU score. From what I have seen, Synchrony seems to do credit limit increases based on tiers of TU score. 650 seems to get you $3500. 675 - $5000, 700 - $10k and on and on. As always YMMV.

FWIW, I have never gotten a CLI just with the luv button on any of my Synchrony accounts. It's always taken either an online chat or call in. I know others have had success with the button, but I have not.

@I got a CLI on my Amazon Prime Acct. from $800 > $3500 within 2wks of opening the acct. with a TU almost exactly what yours is. I called Credit Solutions @ 877-379-8173. I had just been approved for a Walmart store card and within minutes I calledd CS based on info I saw on these boards. I asked for $10K on my Wally card and they countered with $3500 so I said "Thanks!". Then, while we're at it could you check my Amazon acct too? Bam!!! $3500...

@Anonymous best my Tu was 601, it has been going up and down a few points over the past month as inq's & new accts are posted, I have been paying down UTI and got it under 10% (Most are @ $0) and today my TU is 662.

Bottom line, CALL THEM. They are not hostile and deal very professionally over the phone.

BTW: looking at your accts. it seems to me that you should go back to the Cap1 pre-qual site (linked below) and get the Platinum. This card can be PC'd to the standard QS after the 2nd statement cuts and then you will have a card that is not sub-prime and gives cash rewards. The to Cap1 cards can be combined when they are both over 6mths old and both credit limits will be combined for a larger total.

https://findmycard.capitalone.com/en/PageVersions/LandingPages/LP_ONE_V01.aspx

Don't forget to hit the LUV button at least every week on your Cap1 accts. It soesn't hurt your score and is an SP only. They are very generous about giving CLI's to customers that are using the products. And you will get your STEPS CLI after the 6mnth mark on each card as well.

Blessings to you and stay in the game. You'll really start to see your numbers rise very soon. Don't worry about momentary bounces in your scores as the inq's and new accts will have some affect. You are more interested in the long view when it comes to credit building.

Re: Synchrony Amazon CLI Request

Thanks for all the tips and infos. I'll wait for my scores to go back to 650 in case I do get denied a cli.
