Ah, you have been using the app which I can also now confirm works. Trying it via the website itself keeps giving the error being reported. So sounds like some sort of site issue then
Edit: showing Amazon website still having error but applying through app works as @Remedios confirmed
I first had the problem on the app (which I tried refreshing/closing/reopening) but encountered the same error message again on my computer while I was on hold with customer service. Just tried again on the app--No dice
I am having the same problem today. It's incredibly frustrating. Has this issue been resolved for either of you who were experiencing it?
I spoke to someone at Amazon, who referred me to Synchrony. It took a few tries to get a helpful representative, but I was finally successful. They told me that it's a problem with specific SSN prefixes. It is a known issue with the Amazon Secured Card application, but they said they didn't know about the problem also affecting the Amazon Prime Store Card. They told me the issue has been escalated and should be fixed by their technical team "within a couple of days."
