Synchrony cares about your TU score. Period.

Not your usage. Not if you PIF or not. TU score.

If you got approved with low scores something like 650, 680, 700 will get you bumps. If you've gone froms ay 600 to 620? Probably no CLI for you.

I see...when I tried in March, I had a TU of 627. My most recent score is 640. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to get up to at least 650 then.

Does Synchrony ever give increases on CL's under circumstances other than the customers' requesting them via CLI?

I'm going to say no. I've had my TJMaxx CC for almost a year now, 11mths, and my SL was $10,000. I never tried for a CLI because I didn't need it for this card. However, due to recent events, I need it to reduce my overall Util back under 10%. I'm around 11% now. So I called and requested a CLI of $35,000, the amount equal to my Discover CC CL. I got the same counter I got with my VCF CC of $25,000, or the option to fax over my income verification documents if I want more. I took the counter, and said I will think about faxing over the documents, so I took down the fax number. I may do it, I may not, I'll think about it. Interesting that I was eligible for at least a $15,000 increase, but didn't get it until I called.

Re: Synchrony CLI schedule?

I opened an AMZ Synchrony (on-line instant) Nov 10, 2017 with an initial CL of $2,100. I have three other cards (2 Cap1's and a Dsc) with nothing over $300. I checked up on my AMZ balance a few days ago and it had auto-increased to $4,400. I hadn't requested one and I sure as hell wasn't expecting one after only 2 months. At first I worried that it might be a mistake but four days later.... it sure helps my UTL.

Re: Synchrony CLI schedule?

With near 700 tu you could call credit solutions and ask for more and you should check pre approvals for new higher limit cards if $300 is all you have for other banks

Re: Synchrony CLI schedule?

Hello CreditAddict: I'm a bit wary about possible denials so early in my game. I've only had credit for 8 months and six of those months were on one secured card. After those six months I finally had a credit report for the first time in a few years (with low 700's for TU & EQ and a low 600 for EXP). I app'd for five or six different cards at that point and only made 3 of them. Both TU & EQ dropped pretty hard initially  (btw 40-70 pts) and are just now starting to recover after 2 months of gardening. But the gorilla in the room is my EXP which has a 621 and an old medical baddie (about 20months left on that one). So once TU & EQ get back above 710 I'll feel more secure about new accts, but that damned EXP will continue to worry me for quite some time.  Although I did come pretty close to applying for a pre-qual'd US Bank Visa today, but I wasn't completely sure how 'qualified' it really was.

Usually fixed apt pre qualms are good.
Check discovers pre qual... it's solid now!

Re: Synchrony CLI schedule?

So... US Bank showed a variable APR of 20% or so for the three listed cards but I've read that they usually review most apps. Also they might have used TU for the pre-qual BUT I've read that they also use EXP in California...that would be a prob for me. Discover denied me an unsecured card 2 months ago because I had just opened a secured Discover 1-2 days before. Also, I wonder how long I should wait to ask (SHOULD I even ask?) for a AMZ/Synchrony CLI since they auto-increased just a few days ago? Right now I really could use a $1500+ CL on a non-retail card as these $300 limits are tough to work with. I've been good at keeping my total UTL below 9% and carrying a small balance each month that I PIF after closing dates.

Re: Synchrony CLI schedule?

Keep checking cap1 for a new offer for a non "one" brand card.
Venture or quicksilver.
Asking for cli on Amazon through credit solutions is not a hp so it doesn't matter if it's a yes or no.
Ask for $5k they counter

Re: Synchrony CLI schedule?

Updating - I got CLI's on both Amazon and Walmart in late October to bring the cards up to $3,500 each (a $2,700 CL for Amazon and $2,300 for Walmart). With the apparent revamp to the CLI facility on Synchrony's various card sites, the CLI button now actually works at least sometimes - it's how I got these increases. I'm planning to try again late this month or early next month once my salary COLA kicks in so I know how much my net income for this year will be (or even once my step increase, if I get one, goes live which will boost my take-home pay even higher).  My last TU FICO was 663 in early December, the new scores should update in the next week or so.
