Synchrony Denials

Hello All, new here, wanted to ask for some ideas on why synchrony would deny me every. Single. time.

I have a 763(equifax) 797(experian) and a 729 (transunion)

My credit

500 Visa-credit union
500 odp visa-same credit union.

My synchrony

$125 amazon store card synchrony, they never approve any CLI

$1000 paypal credit, never approved either.

I have never missed a payment on either for the 2 years with the store card or 3 years with the paypal.

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the forum.

I noticed your Trans Union score is a little lower than your EX & EQ,

Normally my TU runs higher than the rest.

Is it possible that you have something on that particular report, that is suppressing your score?

You might see what is actually on your TU report @ https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action

Go over it with a fine tooth comb, as that is what Synchrony is looking at. .. All JMHO

Re: Synchrony Denials

@Anonymous Are you using the card during the month and then paying it off? My guess is that you are paying it off after the balance is communicated to the credit bureaus and you are showing up as having a higher utilization than you really have. Can you check what balance is reporting on the cards on your credit reports?

Hi @Anonymous - welcome to the forums.

As others have mentioned, if you could share a bit more information or the reasons cited on the SYNCB denial letters, then the community can provide some advice on next steps.

Re: Synchrony Denials

Do you have negative info on your credit reports? any missed payments in the last 7 years? You have a very thin credit profile as well. It may be a combination of a very thin profile and something else. Please post what the others asked of you as well.

Thanks

Mark

Re: Synchrony Denials

I do pay the amazon off every month, while paying the paypal off completely every couple months. I have never missed a payment, only 4 blank months where I had payed the paypal off and then not used it for those months. I've looked into the credit reports like you've all asked and nothing has jumped out at me. I'm waiting right now on the denial letters to arrive, 4-8 business days till then.

@Anonymous  On the strength that you managed to keep the 125 cl amazon card in good status alone should warrant a cli. That's barely enough to charge a few packs of gum.

Although you have a thin file your scores are pretty decent even with the lower TU score. You could be in some weird bucketed category or something in your TU file is scaring Sync away.

If you are being constantly denied by a certain creditor try someone else you may receive a higher SL and better chances at CLIs.

If I was you I would definitely do a pre-qualification with Discover. Even if you get an approval for a secured card it will more than likely be unsecured in 8 months and lately when they unsecure cards they add at least a 1000 dollar in Cli or more to it.

Good luck in whatever direction you take!

Re: Synchrony Denials

@Anonymous

as others stated

theres something suppressing your TU score

check your reports

also, you mention CL but not utilization

thats also important for CL increases and new credit

whats your income?

maybe they are afraid of extending more credit if you usually max out your limits

but we cannot give advice or tips without more information
