Synchrony Hardpull

I checked my prequal for a Lowes Advantage card and decided to do a hardpull and got approved. Is it a bad idea to try to use that same hardpull for a different consumer card on the same day? Or am I misunderstanding how this works?

only a small number of certain credit card issuers will allow for a single Hard Pull to be used for multiple products or cards, Synchrony is not one of them.

If you apply for a different credit card with Synch or anybody else, you will get a second hard pull which will impact your credit score.

All credit card hard pulls impact your score individually,

Unlike hard pulls for a car loan which for FICO scoring purposes, is only counted as one within a certain time period.

If there's a credit product you need and want and you feel your profile can support it, I wouldn't worry about the second hard pull. But it's something to consider.

welcome!

if you provide more details about your credit, more detailed advice can be provided.

if you have 20 years of perfect credit history and have never been late and haven't gotten a card in five years, two cards in one day is probably fine.

if your scores are 600 and you owe a bunch of money, that might be different, particualrly when Synchrony is quick to close out accounts.

it all depends: what you need, what you want, why you want it and what your credit looks like, and people can give the best insights they can
