'TRIED' FOR AMEX CLI....the other day.  Got the 7-10 day message and an email to call.

Problem is; I got greedy!

My CL is $1,6000 and haven't asked for an increase in quite awhile.  I asked for increase to $34,000.

I called this afternoon and they told me my spend on this card doesn't warrant a CL of that amount and that I could try again in March!

Hmmmph!

Discover loves me more, but then; they've been getting all my spend the past few months, too!  Ah, well!

That would of been an astronomical bump. They will warm up. It took me 2 years. Now I have 3 Amex Cards  and a PL   My first card still has a lower limit then the others.

Maybe OP is Indian and was referring to 1,6000 rupees?
