Does anyone have a phone number update for a Target REDcard Credit Analyst? The backdoor number listed says it's for new accounts. I spoke to an account supervisor a few weeks ago when my CL was dropped $1500 with no warnining. no letter, no apparrent reason. She told me she could not manually reinstate the limit but would initiate the computer review that would reinstate the limit. Today I received their MC that replaces the VISA and my CL has not been restored. It's been at least 2 months so I really need to question this.
that is ashame! I don't even know if Target has people that can over ride their computers. With them, the computer is the all mighty decesion maker.
I didn't know anyone had a limit high enough to drop it by $1500 (only somewhat kidding).

Cute-but I thought I had a serious question for a somewhat serious problem. I had a $5000 CL and I've had the card 15 years and never been late. CL has been $5000 since 2008. I get tired of representives at credit card companies lying to me but I can't figure out who I'm supposed to talk to.
OP- I really don't think any of us have the solution for you. Target is weird, odd company that does not give consumers the ability to work with their credit limits.
I think your best bet is to call up the 800 credit card number, when you get someone overseas, demand to speak with their supervisor and try to pry information on who to contact or who is their boss that can help you out with this concern.
maybe even post something on consumer affairs website about your long history and excellent payment history target and they slashed your limit for no reason and refuse to talk to you about it. someone might reach out to you from their coporate offices that. if not one does, then target is really a backwards company.
I've had $700 limit for a year. I think most people are in the hundereds to 1000 range from what I've seen. I didn't know anyone had a limit high enough to drop by $1500 either, but target must have been treating the visa and non-visa versions of the redcard credit card differently.
You having a 5K limit with Target, you surely have earned it. The longevity of your relationship with Target should warrant some consideration. Call the Corporate headquarters and request that they look into your issue. You deserve better than what you got. Curious though, I know that you said everything has been intact with Target, has anything else regarding your credit/financial situation change where they would become spooked? Any collection added, account utilization change drastically, public records? Not looking for an answer to such personal questions, perhaps something has changed in your credit portfolio that has them concerned. Good luck and let us know how things turn out.
