Cap1 is making it easy for Target to win me over. No discount sunset and no Triple HP Beatdown. Free shipping is a bonus. 5% on just about everything is awesome. Mail order TP is the shizzles.

Target is not even my gig but it's been on me so much lately I had to at least look into it to see what its all about. Apparantly there is a huge Target card following on MF. I think its the 5% that attracts everyone because it certainly cant be the anemic SLs they're giving out
Not knocking the card just wondering if its something Im missing... and here it comes... should I App for the card if that's the case?
Classic MF question with obvious answer... Should have apped yesterday... what are you waiting for?
The marketing Gods are on me... need help.
I'm not big on "tarjay" but boredom does kick in sometimes and I stop after dropping or picking up my kids from school. I also get costumes and holiday decoration there. So I applied for the Debit card version, which also gives me 5% off, free 2 dayshipping and $50 off $100 on a purchase. By doing this you can avoid the hard pull and score drop, since you did menetion that you are not an avid Target shopper.
People like it because it's 5% everyday and when it grows, it'll grow. At some point, you'll be converted to the MasterCard version. The question is how long it takes. Some people can do it in a year, I'm on year 4 or 5. Based on the datapoints here, I'm one giant increase from a conversion.unfortunately, they cut off my increases this last quarter so I have no idea when the next one is coming.
@Brian_Earl_Spilner
Are your sig scores current?
I am guessing you need to age before TD resumes the CLIs if so.
If you just want the benefits and don't want the scoring ding of a new account or the worry of a small CLI, just get the debit as mentioned above.
I have the debit and love it - all the same benefits, and just like the credit version you'll get targeted (pun intended) offers.
I got it before I started rebuilding or anything, and even if I had the scores today I had back then, I'd still prefer the debit version over the regular because I just want the bennies without having another card reporting.

Target seems to be worse than Cap1 in the CLI department as if that was even possible.

The debit would be a smoother option but I feel that if I have to go through the trouble I might as well get a TL along with it. Curious as to why you think having another card reporting would be a hassle in your case?
