I've had my card since 10/2018 and a SL of $300.  I'm now @ $2200 with my last increase that came in April of this year.  Hoping they'll upgrade me to the Mastercard in the next year or 2.  I love using my Target card.

I love using mine too! I'm not one of those that wanders around aimlessly adding things to my cart haha. But I have bought new curtains, upgraded our bedroom tower fans (such as  brands/products mostly offered online only through target and most retailers such as Frigidaire fans) and a nice tower space heater on this billing cycle. So it's especially great for the 5% as I compared prices everywhere for the same brand/product (kohl's, Lowe's , Home Depot, amazon). I've gotten the best deals with cartwheel plus redcard discount. I found a very hard to find, during this pandemic, Nintendo Switch on a lake vacation in August at a target  and of course had to use my debit or a different card to purchase because it would exceed my redcard limit. Those things are still scarce going on 6 months in my Midwest big city area. You'd  think they'd be more available with production increasing again. Sorry went off topic.  I would have been happy with 5% off of a Switch versus 1.5% cash back on it from a different card. All in all I Can't complain. The extra payments to get available credit gets annoying but what's 20 seconds out of my day during a pandemic where my state shuts down every other week? (Literally every other week we close down indoor dining for bars/restaurants/limit occupancy to next to nothing only to reopen in 14 days and rinse and repeat week after week. Not to mention 45 degree days aren't considered patio weather).

That's good information to have. THanks for sharing!

My DM just got an 500 increase her statement closed 10/28/20. Last week when she signed in to pay her bill it asked her to update income info nothing changed but updated it with same amount for a chance of an increase guesses if worked out lol. So there still hope. Checked her last increase was March of this year.

Woo, she's a lucky one! Congrats to her. There is hope. Haha

Re: Target RedCard CLI's and CLD's

I've had mine for about a year $500 CL no raises since and I put around $30-150 a month on it at times but at one point put $450 on it then paid it right off. I haven't had any big late payments with them since account open. I would like the CLI just for the extra utilization room but at the end of day I like the card and the little 5% discount it's convient to you use in the store.

And now the equivalent of a $40 SUB, even on the debit card (and apparently some people have churned the debit many times)

Re: ARe: Target RedCard CLI's and CLD's

Currently my store card has a $2.8K CL, and has been that same limit for almost 2 years now. Have had the card for almost 4 years. I use the card monthly for a few hundred, and let like $10 post.

I update my income monthly with no change. I tried all the tricks to get a CLI to no avail. Ive decided I just won't care anymore, and I''ll use the card if I want too or not. This last time, I hadn't used it for 3 months.

Keep hoping some day for the MC upgradeSmiley Happy

Heck, I waited 10 years last time for the upgrade to Visa (when it was Visa). They were also IIB in my BK7 in 2013. They let me back in 2016.

I gave on getting a CI from Target. They are so stingy.

The short version is that I spend $200-600 on mine every month, pay in full and update income to the same number out of habit when I schedule the payment, and stopped receiving what had become a CLI every June and December after my last CLI in June 2019.

Long version is I opened the store card in 2002 with a CL of $1200, when it changed issuers and upgraded to a Visa card around 2005 they gave me a CLD to $800 and it sat there until 2016, through another issuer and then to TD Bank who changed it from a Visa to a MasterCard.  I finally received a $500 CLI in June 2016.  That was followed by $1000 CLIs in December 2016, June 2017, and December 2017.  Then I received $2000 CLIs in June 2018, December 2018, and June 2019 - then it stopped.  $10,300 is ample for the amount of spend I put on it and much better than the $800 it was at for so many years, but it's still strange that they suddenly just dried up.

Came back to give an update since my statement close yesterday and I had a $500 CLI.  Looks like I'm not the only one with $500 this week.  I was enjoying the pattern (especially with the last 3 being $2k a pop) but I'll certainly take whatever they throw at me!

Re: Target RedCard CLI's and CLD's

@SunriseEarth Did your statement also cut recently? I just checked my account and no CLI but my statement cuts the 26th. I've gotten increases at my November statement cuts the last two years and I'm thinking if I'm gonna get one it'll be then.
