Re: Target credit card no limit increase

I had a 500 card for about a year +, used it somewhat regularly but never got close to the limit.  Last year woke up to a 2k limit Mastercard. Score was about 720.  Never updated my income, never cared enough to, although it's pretty high.

Re: Target credit card no limit increase

I was stuck at $500 for 7 years and few weeks ago, I got a CLI to $1200. I spend between 4000-6000 per year and always pay in full. Last November, I bought some items and maxed it out but paid in full. While the 5% is good for big ticket items, I have now started to concentrate my spending on my AMEX platinum to rack up MR points that i can use for airline tickets.

Re: Target credit card no limit increase

It could be worse they could have given you crappy clis like they did to me over 4 years then balance chased you and removed them and I've seen nothing in years now.

Didn't know that. Good data point @Trini88

The fact that they won't even allow you to request an increase is what irritates me. 😒

Don't get me wrong, I love my Redcard, I shop at Target a lot, just not a fan of all my other cards getting regular increases and this one sitting here not moving and not being able to ask for a little more money on it since I spend more than $300 monthly at Target 🤣. I really do think my biggest disappointment was not being able to get the 5% off buying my PS5 from Target. Instead had to settle with 2% cash back using my Apple Card which I'm also fine with because that guarantees me an CLI with Apple when the time comes 🤣

Re: Target credit card no limit increase

Lol. Same here. We put a good amount of spend at Target except that I have the debit version 😑. So I'm a little salty about not being offered the credit card.

Still the 5% off helps & drive up is more than convenient. About to head out now for an order. But I'll admit that I significantly decreased our spend with Target & have increased with Walmart. Target won't be the only decision maker😤

Re: Target credit card no limit increase

Actually I've done this method over a year because a target rep advised me and I also read it in another forum but it's been over a year and no increase. Sad thing is I love target but it's not even worth the 5% because it's my lowest card. None of my cards are under 5k I have a total of 118k credit cards and my utilization is always under 10%  sometimes overall all at 0% and over all and on every individual card credit scores all across are 780s no recent inquiries in over a year sad thing I got my 6500 Apple Card last year and in 4 months without a request it's at 10k I don't get TD plus I  have an auto loan with TD which every 6 month I pay it up for 6 months and make a interest payment every month at this point I'm a kid with target any other ideas on how to grow this card

None of the responses so far actually answered your question, so here goes:

Use the card every month, let the resulting balance report, and pay the statement balance in full.  Do not carry balances.

Also every month log in online and update your income information, even if it hasn't changed.

No guarantees of success.???
