Target redcard 7-10 day message

Hi everyone,
Just looking for some opinion. I applied jut now for the redcard and got the 7-10 day response. Wondering what others’ experiences are with this. I understand my chances are slim, I’m currently rebuilding. I have a secured discover that’s 2 months old, a cap1 platinum that has yet to be reported and it pulled my Eq score which is only about 568.

Unfortunately  I don't think your score is high enough for targetSmiley Sad

I was approved with a sub-600 score, but that was 4 years ago. It was an instant approval though.

Agree I think you'll need 630 or higher for many store cards.

Re: Target redcard 7-10 day message

As others have mentioned, it’s probably a denial. Sorry.

Let that Capital One card report, keep your reported utilization low, PIF, and gain some history. Also, address whatever derogatories are contained within your reports to the best of your abilities. Try again after you make some progress.

It’s going to be what’s contained in your credit reports that’s going to influence approvals more than scores. There is no magic number to achieve for approval. Some may get approved with a sub-600 score and other with a 720 might get denied.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks. It’s mostly my derogatory student loans. I started the rehabilitation process though so that should be good to go in 10 months.

OP - in this instance, I wouldn’t be holding out hope. 7-10 days is a denial.

In the future, there is hope for another application after you make some progress cleaning things up and showing some positive history.

Re: Target redcard 7-10 day message

I applied in store when I had a score of 715 and got the 7-10 day response. I work retail and know that usually means that the app didn’t get approved so I didn’t hold out hope. Three days later I get a call from the Target credit department. They verified my address + my social and then I was approved.
Chances are still slim but hey, it could still work out!
