So new secured card

I'd suggest slowing your roll a tad. Wait til you get the Cap1 card, put some spend on it and let it report. They have something called Creditwise that's a trimmed down look at your credit including score...but don't take that as gospel. Get yourself a 3b report from this site if you're serious about your credit.

Try a Discover secured card I hear they graduate well. When you know where you stand with your report you need a total of 3 cards to effectively build. One can be a store card but don't get too many of those. In the meantime read as many threads here as you can, there is a wealth of knowledge.

My question, agagin, is. Do I start with a high limit on my Capital One, or do two or three secured with lower limits?

Re: Tell me, you beautiful people... What is best to start with?

Personally, i would just use the capital one card you have right now for the next 6 months, then apply for a unsecured cap one card (check for a cap1 pre-qual in 6 months).
You should be able to get a third unsecured card around 9 months from now (check for prequals with other banks).

I would only add more funds to your secured card if you need more spending power.

You could get more secured cards now, but as you said, it would result in small credit limits with less spending power.
Plus, you'd be tying up money for a while, waiting for the cards to unsecure.

If you do choose to get another secured card, i recommend Discover.

Right now you just need time. try to be patiant, and research everything prior to making decisions..

I would just use the Cap1, pay off in full and let it graduate to non-secured.

Keep spending, pay in full and ask for a credit limit increase every 6 months.

After your first CLI posts apply for another card. That worked well for me.

You've got your foot in the door with a new Cap1 card.  Congrats!

You have some fresh inquiries now, so I would suggest you not app for anything else.  Just use the card you have and build some history.  Check your report in 6 months to a year and figure out what to do from there.

The most important virtue in this game is patience.

Agreeing with others above, use that card for the next 6 months and see if you have your scores then.
