@Anonymous wrote:Is there a time period in between SP CLIs with Barclays? If it's 6 months, then I might be able to get mine later this month (my last one was in March).
I believe this has been a new thing this year but I'd say 6 months is good. I've been wondering how things will go when people call for round 2.
@Anonymous wrote:Not a SP, but I got approved for a Ring for CL larger than both my other Barclay's cards today.
How old were your other 2 cards, what were the limits if you don't mind telling. I just got 2 cards from them, the rewards and the Apple Visa, and found a card that actually better suits me, so i was debating whether to wait a while and change one cards with a new one, or apply for a 3rd one.
Thanks.

The manager informed me that I was calling for a APR reduction and a SP CLI. She said, "please allow me a few moment's to check your current offer's on your account". After, a few moment she states she does not seee any offer on my account, because my account is to new (2 weeks old). However, she stated "you have made very high usage of your account (76 transactions) ~$3.6k total transactions. Usually, with these types of highly valued customer we reward APR reduction and SP CLI every (3 months)." She went ahead and informed me to call back on 9/30/15, and ask to speak with the retention department for an account evaluation for APR reduction and eligibility for SP CLI.
This is definitely one of the best peices of information we have picked up in this entire thread. Have not heard anything like this so far but if that's true. One could rack up $4,000 in 3 months and call in and ask for these things and stop using the card.
I had a feeling it worked like this but had no real way to verify it.
Thank you!
Got denied for the rewards card the other night, and called backdoor recon next morning. The rep approved me for $1K SL. he was very friendly and we had a good chat about different stuff, and i asked him, down the road, what would they like to see if i ever called in to request CLI besides the timely payments. He said they would like to see more than minimum payments, account being used, maybe even closer to the limit( i would say 60/70%) and paid in full. That way i would be more likely to get a cli. I said, just to confirm in different words, it does not make sense for someone with $1K limit and use the card $200 a month only and then call and ask for cli when they still have a huge portion of their cl available that they never even tapped in to. And he said Exactly! So here is another hint for those who are considering a cli from Barclays. At least show some usage to them for the last 2 statements before you ask for cli and your chances may be higher.
Called last weekend to lower APRs on both cards. Done. 4% decrease on each.
Also asked if any SP CLIs were available. Done. Arrival +2.5K and Aviator +1.5K.
Arrival 27 months old. Aviator 6 months old.
I just called the # on the back of the Arrival card - asked for an APR reduction, they transferred me - they gave me an APR reduction frm 18,9% to 17.9% - I then asked if there was a SP CLI offer - she indicated there was - increased $3,000 from 10,200 to $13,200...thanks the the MyFICO community!
Just got my Rewards card yesterday, and Apple Card literally a few minutes ago. It is activated, so i am calling the customer service, and i will use the fact that i am a new user, so i would like to check if there is any welcome offers, and i will post the results here shortly.
i can tell SP CLI will be a no go most likely because i called for both cards after approval for a recon for the CLI and they told i should wait until they see some activity and timely payment, but i'll give it a try starting with APR Reduction first.

Congrats!
Would you mind sharing what your previous CL's were? That way we can understand better what % of CLI they gave you.
Thanks.
Sure, Arrival 8K--> 10.5K, Aviator 4K-->5.5K
Opened Arrival at 5K in 2013 and got auto luv to 8K and then to 12K
Was able to open Aviator back in March by moving some over from Arrival
So, you could say that I got 31% bump on Arrival and 38% bump on Aviator. But IME, Barclays looks at total credit exposure, so based on that, I increased total limits by 1/3.

I have 2 cards from them and debating whether i should apply for a 3rd one, maybe a branded card before i get my butt back in the garden.
TU 1% utilization on $25K revolving account, (waiting for the updates and it will be around $35K) and right around 670 fico score.
Any suggestions?
