I posted this in the garden thread but I think it's more apt here.
Got an email from AMEX: "To recognize your excellent history as an American Express® Card Member, we are pleased to inform youthat the credit limit on your account referenced above has increased to $2,000.00."
It was stuck at $1k since Nov 2013. I didn't know about 3X CLI etc before joining this forum; and my utilization was pretty sucky all this time. So they denied my any CLI in April, May, and June this year. Right now my AMEX util is at 80% (of 1k) and all across it's about 35%. I'm paying down almost all of it by end of this month.
I was planning to hit the CLI button with AMEX later next month, presumably after they did an SP and saw that I was being good, i.e. paying down all balances. I was hoping to get this limit to 3k.
Now what do I do? Do I need to wait 6 months from today to hit the CLI button?

You do not have to wait 180 days. My DH received the same email and a few weeks later received a 3xcli based on his new CL.

Congratulations, Ysettle! I currently have the same initial CL and my 61st day is coming up in three weeks. Fingers crossed for the same results!
I'm pullin for ya. Makre sure you're at 0 util before the last statement is cut.

Absolutely. Won't be hard at all! I'll update you all in 3 weeks.
Pulled the trigger on my 61 CLI today.
I got the AMEX ED CC two months ago with an initial CL of $10,000.
I went for the full $30K, since I was not worried about providing income docs if they asked.
Got an isntant counter for $18,000. I happily accpeted it!
I am more thrilled about this than my NASA approval at $30K since this is my everyday card.
Stats at CLI request.
Overall utill on card was about 30%
PIF first statement which was only like $100. Next payment was $2K with about a $4K balance at the time. Those were they only two payment I made since getting the card. I have put about $5-6k though the card so far.
I have two new cards reporting also since getting the ED. Total UTIL is 30% right now.
EX FICO was 737 when I got the ED and Current TU FICO DiscoverIT is 712 (9/20/2014) I have a judgement on TU which is not on EX so I know the EX is higher than that.
AAOA: 4.9 Years
Oldest Acct: 15 years
Income: $73K
One late Payment a couple years ago.
BK 9 years ago
Thanks to everyone and all the info on this board. Two months ago I had a C1 plainum with a $2300 limit and an old HSBC with a $450 limit, with the help of the info here I now have:
Amex ED: $18,000
NASA Cash Rewards: $30,000
Citi TY Perferred: $5700
DiscoverIT: $5000
C1 Platinum: $2300
Closed out the HSBC(now Cap1) with the $79 annual fee!!
Here's to 9 years of rebuilding!!!! Time and paitence. Now I am going to let these suckers age, pay my judgement in the next couple of months and get into the 760s across all three CBs to get the best terms on the new house I plan to buy next year!!!!
Is it better to ask for 3x on the luv button, chat or phone?
I think my 61 day was sometime this week so I went ahead and tried my 3x CLI for my EDP
I used the online increase button to jump from 1000 to 3000.
I got a counter offer of 2800. I don't know why they felt the need to short me the $200, but I'm happy nonetheless.
I've been running a lot of money through it and paying it multiple times a month
