I am almost same situation as yours with $20K originally approved on BCP and would be approaching 61 days soon. Though my reportable income is in $220s. And between my $168K total credit line (of all credit cards), total balance is just $26. My highest limit card is $48,400 BoA. I would love to top that BoA limit.
My roommate has around $30,000 income and the amex bce at $2,000 and they refused to give him anything and he has tried. I kinda feel bad for him

This morning i got an email with a link to view my decision and it was the following......
"Your income is insufficient for any additional credit cards or credit limit increases due to the amount of existing accounts open with American Express."
I guess since i listed my income as $13,960 from my regular job, since I'm not earning a ton from my side venture, my annual revenue i put $35,000.
So i'm guessing i just need to earn more money, there's just no way around that...... no recons for this?
You can recon stating that you want to include your income from other sources as well. My wife had same problem last month. SHe called and asked them to take mine and her combined income into consideration and she was approved the asked CL next day.
I called and went through the automated system for the increase and it acted like it was going to let me try again, and i just kept saying representive for it to get me to someone, and i was transfered to someone in india who took my request for a recon and i gave him a new figure of $16,960 a year with $13,960 being regular income, and the rest from business income, and listed my revenue same as before of $35,000, he didn't ask for an amount for the increase. He just said he will send it to the review team and i'll have an answer in 48 hours.
If i'm denied again, should I just wait 6 months and try again, or should i just forget it all together untill i earn a ton more money?
All things considered i do feel better getting denied for not enough income vs something with my credit file.
Today, it has been 60 days that I was approved for my AMEX Blue Cash Everyday card with $3000 limit and I was thinking about applying for the 3X CLI. However, my credit score has taken a dive recently due to hard inquiries from moving and a previously declined credit card. The MyFICO scores from the time when I applied for the card were EQ 715, TU 738 and EX 722. Now, the scores are EQ 663, TU 692 and EX 683. Does it even make sense to apply? Thanks
Lots of pages so I don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but it does not seem like the 6 month rule applies if the last credit limit increase was automatic (e.g. you did not ask for it). Amex upped my limit from $6,500 to $9,500 2 months ago and I just requested an increase to $19,000 and it was instantly approved.
Does anyone know at what point the 3x rule wears off? Obviously I'm not requesting anymore for a while but I was reluctant to ask for a 3x because > $25,000 seems a little ridiculous. And in 6 months asking for $57,000 seems even more ridiculous...
So I decided to try for another AMEX after being declined for the 3X CLI two months ago. I closed my account at that point and decided what the heck I need another 0% CC for next 15 months. I was instantly approved for $10K CL on the same BCE I had before. So in essence, I got my 3X CLI since I was at $3500 when I closed it. I will shoot for the 3X CLI in 61 days on this account whch I will be in a much better situation with my 2013 Jeep almost paid off.
So I appear the still be playing the waiting game with my recon for my increase attempt on my SimplyCash Business card. it has been 3 days of still pending status, and I keep calling and they kept telling me 48 hours and this morning i was even told 2 to 3 days...... I guess a real live human is reviewing my request...... yesterday when i asked to talk to underwriting i was told "underwriting is not a customer oriented department, they don't take calls"
This is just nuts. I hope somoene is seriously taking time to see if they can give me an increase. If days pass i may have to call the EO on them.

BigDEElight said this above. I am in a similar situation so thanks for confirming as well.
As far as the 3x CLI, as long as your income and credit profile supports it, AMEX will give it to you.
So I called to check the status of my credit increase recon, and i got the exact same answer as before, so then i called the customer service team since they are in the US and they ended up passing me right back to the new accounts/credit team which actually gave me the same india rep as before.
I then was getting upset now as this should not be happening that i'm being yanked around like this..... so I took it higher and called Underwriting Directly at the number 888-290-6418 i found on google, I got a very nice rep in the US who actually answered as AMEX Underwriting!
I explained why i was calling, and that i'm feeling yanked around, and he said he would have to reach out to another team..... i then asked him not to transfer me off to someone he said he wouldn't...... he came back and said eventhough there is no time frame on the review for reocn they are working on it for real and i should hear back either today or monday/tuesday. Almost the same as the reps in india but better deliverly of it and actually took charge of finding out for me instead of reading from a script!
I even said i was sorry for cold calling him and he said no problem, he said he hates to see card members get bounced around so he was happy to help.
