The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

So I originally got approved for $5500 on my BCE, apped for a CLI to $15k and got approved, now for my next CLI, what should I try apping for? I don't mind providing income verification but I don't want an HP. I've read $25k or $35k is the magic number. Thoughts?

I applied for a SPG and got a $15,000 limit.  I'm still a little surprised at that.  Three times this would be approaching my salary.  Should I really be asking for 3x?  I have good credit, 100% of on-time payments, and a PRG card (as well as cards from other issuers).  Is there another number that I should ask for instead?

ask for whatever you're comfortable with and, if you qualify, they'll approve or counter. remember that the 3x isn't a guarantee, nor is a CLI

I just got approved 2 days ago with 3x cli to 19.5K on BCE

This is really helpful, though I'm not sure I'm comfortable going 3x my SL...$24,000 just seems slightly excessive for our spending. I'll be happy with 2x when the time comes.

They offered me BCE on Jan 2016 with 6.5K Credit Line and I tried to do 3x cli after 61 days and got approved 19.5K . Well 61 Days cli still working anyways
