@Anonymous wrote:Yeah, it does appear as if the 61 day rule is back. If you try before that and are denied, it does not reset the clock so you can try when your account hits 61 days and you don't have to wait the 91 days. The 91 days applies for denials when you are actually eligible for a credit limit increase. In your case, technically you weren't eligible and therefore don't have to wait the 91 days.
It has been 61 days since I tried my 3X CLI upon activation and was sent a letter stating that I needed to have 60 days of activity on my account before I could request a CLI. Today I went online and did another 3X CLI. Got the "you will get an answer in the mail in 7-10 days". Then got the email telling me to call. I called and was told that this CLI was denied because I needed to wait 90 days from my denied request back on Feb 12. I explained that I had gotten a letter back then that seemed to imply I could try again in 60 days. The CSR said that letter was a denial and was explaining the reason for the denial. One more month for me! Perhaps people should NOT be trying to CLI upon activation!

Not sure what is going on with them. They give out contradictory information all the time. At this point, I would agree that it's best just to wait until day 61 or later to try. Still trying too early should not cause the clock to reset and set off the 90 day wait. Typical of Amex
Wow there is just soooo Much misinformation on AMX cards and Credit line increases, that I for one don't know what the hell to any more!!

by the looks of your signature/score, I'd say you're doing everything right

There isn't misinformation but Amex constantly changing their policies. Once you have the card and get past those firsr 61 days it really isn't that difficult. You get a CLi, you wait for 6 months to try again. If denied, you try after waiting 91 days.
Anyone know when Amex updates the scores they use for soft pulls?
I finally got a denial letter from 2 weeks ago when i tried for my 61 day CLI & was denied. Today the letter said "denial because of low FICO score." The score they have is from the first week of March, when my score was still 630. Same score I had when they approved me in the 1st place.
Anyway, now my score is a 670, and they say they can't see that. They can only see my score of 630 and that's why I was denied.
I'm thinking if they knew my score was 660-670, maybe I would have been approved.
