Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Thanks again, K! My EX high was 720 before I got all these new cards. So, I'll wait until my EX beats 720 😀.

I've also just used my BCE recently, and I'll double check if the card has been reported at all!

Thank you again! You are a wealth of info!

No problem. Once you get back to 720 sounds like a good strategy.

ETA: Also, where's that Optima card?

You're the best! Will add the Optima when I get home and the $200 CapOne 🤣.

I just reviewed myFICO alerts and PRG hasn't been reported either. Used it twice.

I read your previous post about your Amex BCP auto increase to 3k back in December, 2016 after stuck 18 months deniad due your BK. I just curious, did you get another increase 3x CLI 180 days after that? Because i'm pretty much in the same situation as you. Thank you so much

Hey @Anonymous!

Great question... it seems I'm still saddled with the 17 year old BK7.  Smiley Sad

After my BCP auto-CLI ($1k to $3k) I apped for an ED in January to keep my MR points (in case I decide to close my PRG) and I was expecting yet another $1k credit line... you could have knocked me over with a feather when I was auto-approved $8k.  Smiley Surprised

I tried for a CLI on my Delta Gold shortly thereafter and it was denied... you guessed it, they referenced the old IIBK account; I ended up closing the the Delta in back in May.  Since then I've tried (again...) for a CLI on my BCP and it's still denied - after the 7-10 day message I (usually) get an email seconds later that a decision has been made and to call, but I don't bother.  The letter they send is always the same "... previous delinquency with an American Express account" (or something to that effect).

So, I've got $3k on my BCP that I use quite often, and $8k on an ED that I only use for Amex Offers.  I didn't reallocate since I thought it would help the BCP to get a CLI if I used a higher percent of the credit line, but I've about decided to move forward and shift some of the ED over to the BCP and call it a day.

Also notable, my BCP was approved at the highest APR, but they later gave me the middle APR on the Delta Gold and Everyday.  They also offered me the Personal Loan, which I took them up on, so you might say they are sending mixed-signals (LOL).

TL;DR... CLIs seem to be off the table for me, but they are fine with approving new cards/accounts.

Disclaimer:  I'm not upset with Amex; I understand that BK has consequences, and I'm very happy to be 'back' at all.  Smiley Wink

UPDATE:

@ uncleB , remember I was asking you this question?

I wasnt sure that i will ever request 3x CLI with Amex due BK in the past and  "..previous delinquency with an American Express account"

I let 61 days passed and today was like 70ish days, I was thinking, what the heck, request 3x CLI $1400 --> $4200 APPROVED!!!.

HOLLY molly. I'm so HAPPY, uncleB! I thought I might stuck with $1400 for so long. I will sleep well tonight.Smiley Happy

Huge congrats, @Anonymous!  screamer.gif

Maybe there's hope for me yet!  Smiley Happy

(I last tried earlier in the summer so I might just give it another try soon... hopefully now that my BCP is over two years old that might make a difference.)

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

All 3 of my CB score are over 700 with only 2 out of like 15 cards reporting a balance and I was denied the measly $1k-$3k

My EX is currently 749, TU is 744 and EQ is 723.

Used the BCE like crazy and they still wouldn't raise my limit.

I think I'm just going to forget about them.

Credits not worth all of this work.

I now have 2 cards over $10k, which is more than my yearly income, so I'll be ok Smiley Happy

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Just requested my first  3x CLI after 61 days for my BCE. Approved from $2k -> $6k!

My experian is hovering mid 700's. I paid my first statement in full and only used the card to meet the spending requirement. Didn't touch it after that. Just set a reminder for 181 days from now. Hopefully I can get $18k, but I doubt it due to it being more than half my income haha.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

I think they'll give you more than half of your income and that 18K is within reach. They might not give it to you all at once, though. I'd ask for it. If they don't give it to you, I'd bet that they counter with something close.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Got my 1k ED card in January. Denied for 3x in march and June. In the meantime I've gotten a PRG, a business green and a business gold.

Asked for 3x this morning and they countered with 2.000. I accepted. 675 EXP FICO
