Darn I got the 5-7 Day message. Was I too early? My account opened on October 18th and I applied on December 19th - technically 62 days after opening. Is it 61 days after opening or 61 after first charge? I forget.

What was your starting limit? Is this your only Amex card and your first CLI request with Amex?
It's 61+ days after opening so you definitely did it on day 62 which is great.
Starting limit was $5k so I requested the 15k. I'm thinking my profile is too thin, since I shunned credit for 9 years and my profile is thinny thin thin. Lots of old cards about to drop off. No baddies. No PR. Essentially a clean file, but super thin. I do have an auto installment for 40k paid off in June 2012 still reporting, no derogs on that either. Not sure how I even got these cards!
Data Points:
Delta AMEX opened: 10/18/2017
AMEX Platinum opened: 11/05/2017Delta Initial SL: $5,000
I've pushed $4,088.70 thru the Delta card for the past two months.
$2,539.72 in Oct/Nov PTZ with 0 balance posting
$1,353.98 Nov/Dec letting $56.40 post before PIF to have a balance showing before my first AMEX CRA report.
Currently have $18.69 on current billing cycle pending when I requested CLI as I'm finishing up my 5k spend for AMEX Platinum.
I've shoved $3,773.37 thru AMEX Platinum over the same period.
$1,184.97 in November
$2,038.40 in December
AMEX Platinum has been PTZ before statement close so no balance will report on that one once my first CRA report posts. My second billing cycle for AMEX Platinum closes on 12/27/2017 and will be PTZ by statement close.
So my first AMEX CRA (very soon) will report $0 for AMEX Platinum and $56.40 on Delta Platinum.
Oh wells, I'll wait until May so I have 6 months payment history and FICO before trying again if they don't give me CLI between now and then. I'm in no hurry.
UPDATE: I got the 3x CLI. I'm now at $15k CL!
So I still loves da AMEX. Logged in to see the 15k CL via CLI staring me in the face. So whoop whoop!
Credit limit increased from $9,000 -> $25,300 back in October. What's the likelihood of increasing it to $75,000?
Hop back to page 370, post 3694. Follow the trail of Ted1's experience. Summarizing, he started by asking for an increase from 25K to 75K. He was asked for income verification. He backed out a bunch of times and tried lower numbers, also getting IV requests. Eventually, he was approved for 34K without verification. By now, he's probably received a bunch of IV letters from AMEX, which he can ignore, use to wallpaper his bathroom, or frame and hang next to his diplomas.
So I'm looking to do my second 3X. Opened the card in Jan of last year at a SL of 1.4k. 3X that to 4.2k in June. Now I'm hungry again. My question: I just saw that Amex did a soft pull yesterday on my account. Is that pull the pull they'll base their decision on, or will they do another soft pull when I call up next week to ask for the 3X?
I would expect them to use their most recent pull on file when considering your CLI request, not take another pull at that time. This is a reason why many wait until their statement period closes and their due date passes, as Amex does their monthly pull following that, updates your score, etc.
My statement cuts the 9th, yet they pulled on the 2nd. I'll have a zero balance with them either way, but my FICO score that they'll post on the 9th will be about 30-40 points higher than the one they are currently displaying for me. So if that score factors into their decision I'm obviously waiting a week.
Also, I have the Wells Fargo Propel, which is Amex. Is this strategy the one to go with on that card as well? Or is it a diiferent beast since it's Wells Fargo?
