Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

@Anonymous, I don't think that's really applicable to your situation. 28K is on the low end, but it's not rock-bottom low in the credit world. I think I'd ask for 20K and see what they say.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Just want to share data point: My 181 days mark comes up couple days ago and I waited for 185 days and requested 3xCLI $4200 = $12,600 but Amex countered $12,300. I gladly accepted (Happy dance! My first card over $10K after BK). it's only $300 short for full 3xCLi. I have balance 21% on this card tho, take advantage 0% APR purchase when I request CLI. So YES you can have a balance on the card when you trying to request CLI. Smiley Wink I started my Everyday Card 8+ month ago only from $1,400.

Should have countered with $12,450.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Should I wait for my score to change?  My statment closed on 03/13 but my last fico update was 2/10 and at the time my score was 650 and is now 691. I have the delta card, limit is 1K. I was denied when I tried it 3 months ago.  I was thinking I can call and when they provide me with a score I can tell them that the score is outdated.  Also is the most I can get is 3x my current limit on my first cli?

Starting Score: 530EQ, 531TU, 514EX (0/2016)
Current Score: 686EQ, 710TU, 686EX (03/2017)
Goal Score: 750+ (01/2018)

FYI went from 45 to 60k still no income verification or tax audit. Guessing no hard cut offs just how much you use, pay, and utilization. Note my credit score is 824 per AMEX so that probably also factors.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Congrats for the new increased! I was told by the customer rep that I could reapply for the CLI in another 3 months. I entered $4000 instead of $5000 so I called them up if I could get additional $1000 to make it beyond $20000 but sadly I have to wait. I guess next time I will enter $5000 or $6000 but not too much or else they will ask me to call them.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Glad I found this, I am new to Amex I applied for the Delta Gold Skymiles card and was approved for 1k limit. This has been a card I have wanted for a few years but also because I wanted to get my foot in the door with Amex. My Experian Fico score was 675 when approved if that makes a difference. My TU score is 40 points higher.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Another 181 day mark is coming up for me tomorrow. I got the BCP alittle over a yr ago and it has gone from 10ksl--24k(61days)--30k(181)...My experian just went from 805 to low 770's due to new account opening (csp+inquiry) AND putting a 5k balance on the CSP...Should I wait until experian reports that 5k down to 2k? Or you think 770's is good enough to request a cli at 181?

You really outta be fine, 770 and 800 is basically the same, and it’ll probably be a minute before its above 800... So I’d say do it tomorrow.

Any idea what your going for? Fourty? 😁
