Re: AMEX 3x LUV

Do you recommend having little to no balance on the card when I do app for the CLI? or does it not matter, they will SP? Thank you again Smiley Happy

Re: AMEX 3x LUV

I believe that your last statement balance (reported balance) and the EX score they last pulled are the more important factors at the time of the CLI request, not your current balance.

Re: AMEX 3x LUV

Thanks.....So, if I apply mid statement, they use the most recent statement closed and whatever Fico Score is updated undere Amex.  Makes sense!!

Re: AMEX 3x LUV

Yup, that's what's most important.  That's not to say that the computer program doesn't look at your current balance at all, of course, although I don't think it's all too significant of a factor.  If someone had a maxed out account, or very high utilization anyway, I could see the program picking up on that and taking it into consideration.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

It has been a little over 180 days since my last CLI where I went from $3,000 to $9,000 and did a small transfer to another AMEX card for $1,000. My CL was sitting at $8,000 and I requested $24,000, and the system countered with $17,500, I accepted.

You’re welcome. All the community contributors help.

I am planning on going for another 3x, but not on that account, I’m looking to grow one of my business CLs with them. We’ll see how that goes. I’m $9,000 away from the $34,500 figure I noticed on page 1 of overall exposure with them, but pretty close to 50% of my current income, which could be a reason for the counter offer where it is. I am looking to increase my business income for 2019 though.

Thanks for sharing. Next Wednesday is my 62 day with my no AF Hilton card. I'll post up the results of a 3x CLI. I'll be attempting to go from 9k to 27k. I haven't even hit my SUB spend yet.

So today I went for the 3X. I got 2X. Up from 9k to 18k. I'm not disappointed at all considering I started July 2017.

EX8 : 711 as of 11-10-18

Total % : 24

Have a BCE 1k with $350ish balance. Hilton card has 660ish balance.

Re: AMEX 3x LUV

Yes, this is my Hilton Amex and first approved CLI with American Express. I got the BCE back in January and it is only a 1k card. Denied on both CLI requests on the BCE but I can understand why. I had a few inquiries and my credit file was still pretty new. When I app'd for the Hilton card back on Sept 12, I was shocked to have been approved for 9k. Today I requested $25k and recieved an increase to 18k and I reallocated 14k to the BCE because it still has 0% until May '19. I have not had any inquiries on my Experian file since May and my score has gone up 9 points since being initially approved for the Hilton card.
