Excellent!!!! Congrats!!!!!
Hello all. New member, first post. I applied for and was approved for the AMEX Blue Cash Preferred with a $3500 CL on September 14th of this year.
On the date of my second statement closing date (November 28th) I initiated an attempt at a CL increase online. I had not discovered this thread, much less this forum, and I thought there was no chance of an increase this early into my card membership.
Having read that a request for too high a CL can trigger a hard pull with many lenders, I simply requested a total limit of $5000. I was shocked to see the instant approval.
After seeing this thread, I'm thinking I really shot myself in the foot! I'm determined to get my first five-digit CL, and it looks like this was my chance.
I recently had the only past dues I have ever had on my credit report (Credit First National Association, Aug 2012,-30 days, Dec 2012-30 days, Jan 2013-60 days) removed nearly six years early via a successful goodwill adjustment. I was ecstatic to see my Transunion FICO score go from 709 to 755 in one day! This happened after my $1500 AMEX CL increase.
I have a few questions:
1) do I really have to wait 180 days, despite the exciting development with my credit file?
2) am I likely to be approved for a 3X CL increase to $15,000 when the 180 days have passed?
3) I have a Discover It card with a CL of $2500 and a Citi Forward with a CL of $4790. If the AMEX card CL is increased to $15,000, is it possible that the Discover and Citi credit limits will be granted CL increases to $10,000 without hard enquiries?

1. Yes you have to wait the 180 days no matter what kind of jump your score as.
2. Very good chance but nothing's a definite. All depends on what AE has for their internal score and other variables like income.
3. No idea but they won't be affected one way or the other by what Amex does.
I've lurked for years! But paying it forward since you guys have been full of wonderful advice over those years. Went for it today and got the full 3X from my original CL!

You guys are the best!
i know 3x is almost automatic after 61 days but im coming up on my 180 and i have a low CL at 3000. I want to try to hit that 10k mark. Ive been using my card everyday since I got it and pay it in full or at least 75% every month (1500-2000 a month on card). Do you think Amex will let me go to 10k??

You can try. They might counter with 9K or less.
I was going to go for the 3X CLI on my 61st day, but I'm guessing it won't be approved with 75% util. I have 0% APR for 15 months so I'm going to use that for as long as possible.
