The Dreaded NFCU 24 hour review message!!!!

Let's take a minute and bow our heads.....

Dear 8 pound 6 ounce newborn baby Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still so omnipotent. Can you please send your love to the folks at NFCU to find it in their hearts to give me the CLI increase that I requested. Amen

All jokes aside I'm hoping that i will magically open the app later today and see an increase in my limit. Not going to hold my breath though. I do have a couple questions:

1. If declined what is my wait time till I can request again? (6 months???)

2. Has anyone been denied a CLI on one card but granted a CLI on another NFCU card? (probably a stupid question...)

Thank you for any and all advice.

My advice: Perhaps make the first part of your post "not a joke" and you might be pleasantly surprised..

It works for me.. AAAfaveprayergif.gif

Question: how long have you had the card and/or has it had a CLI as of yet & how long ago?

I have had the card since 12/16/17 and never either asked for an in crease or given an auto increase...

Well it seems like you should be in for good news..

I do know that Navy values uti and debt to income ratio so as long as those aren't too high, you should be good.

As for the wait to request again, I believe the best plan would be to wait for the reason for denial, if in fact it becomes a denial and repair that- then ask again.

You can check your account off & on to see if your cli is applied to your account- I've seen the CL increase within a few hours when approved, after the 24 hr message.

GOOD LUCK!! crossed_fingers.gif

I had the card for years and never asked for an increase because until I found myfico, it never occurred to me to and was irritated I never got one from them. When I did ask I got the 24 hr message (and HP even with them just doing their sports pull) and found just shy of a 3x cli. So not a set in stone automatic refusal.

Ohhhhhhh yeah... Credit Karma was quick to notify me they pulled my Equifax report!!! Even sent in a secure message after I saw the pull explaining my situation and that I will be shopping for a VA loan with them shortly.

But, I think it's well-known that they can HP, right? This is a YEMV scenario regardless if they had done an AR prior to submitting the CLI request.

While some individuals can get their CLIs via SP that *may* be tied to the AR, it's not set in stone. Whenever I've submitted CLI requests with Navy I'm always expecting a HP.

I think I just got another HP by just telling you about it 😄

Re: The Dreaded NFCU 24 hour review message!!!!

How often does NFCU do account reviews? I read somewhere that it’s every two months. Has that changed? Seems there have been several changes in their policies and procedures in the past year or so, at least judging by posts in myFICO. If a SP CLI approval is tied to their AR, and if they still do that, how long after an AR will they start doing HP?

My score was just refresh as of 2/3 so now would be the time to go for one if you are going to try but honestly, it’s best practice to always expect a HP with NFCU and be happy if you squeak an instant approval without one. You can always freeze your credit reports if you don’t want a HP CLI though. There’s nothing wrong about doing this, you just won’t get a CLI if you don’t unfreeze so they can HP.
