The Newest SP SCT Alive Again?

2/21/20 Wayfair. SP, did not do SCT. Did pre-qualification twice before pulling the trigger.

3/3/20 SP CLI day after I got my card for $800

2/20 Williams Sonoma was SP via SCT

Does comenity upgrade cards to open loop? I want the Williams-Sonoma, but don't want another store card.

Fairly rare, but they do happen.  In the last several years, there's been only a handful of posts about that, but nothing recent as of the last 2 years, IIRC.  You'd have to be targeted for it and not something that can be requested.  Very similar with V/MC upgrades to VS/WMC for existing Comenity bankcards.

When I called in April 2019 requesting moving on up to the HSN MC she said I'd have to reapply. This on the heels of two back to back $2k cli's....but still a no-go. I didn't waste a hp cuz the tl was moving over to Synch in a couple of months anyway but she did say it depended on the card/company and their rules. (UW)  But @Brian_Earl_Spilner if you later decide to app for WS, call in first and ask about their UW before making that decision.

@FireMedic1, can you update your post (perhaps the previous ones too) just to have a notation for KOHL'S?  While they offer a pre-approval template, the rest of the herd listed is Comenity/CCB, while KOHL'S is Capital One.  Just for folks to be aware of as far as lenders go.
