Thinking to go on application spree or should I garden?

Hey everyone,

I'm a new here just started browsing and finding out lots of new stuff I didnt know about improving my credit. Thank you all

I just checked myfico and says my scores are EQ 725 TU 765 EX 710 TL $9300. No balances, I use small amount every month and pay it full. Income was just bumped from $57k to 135k.

I have prequal offers from capital one quicksilver, bank of america cash rewards, chase sapphire preferred, td bank, bbt bank, ihg rewards card. I like most of them. I want to apply for most of them but dont know what the proper strategy would be to not hurt my credit scores or my chances of being approved.  I want to build up my total limit that way I can keep the utilization low for when I spend more.

I opened 2 accounts in may 2016 and my EX dropped down from 748 to 710.

My first card in a long time was a first progress secure card in June 2015 for $300 deposit/limit.

I got a discover card offer in april 2016 and was approved for $7k

In may I got two offers from american express gold rewards (approved) and for citi double cash card  - approved $2k.

My last late payment has been like 7 years ago.

Any tips for for what I should do? I appreciate any feedback

App Chase FIRST if you haven't opened 5 accounts in 24 months.
App Bank of America second. Both these are inq/new account sensitive.
App Capital One last.

Don't want to dampen your spirits but my mom got a Chase Sapphire preferred for $23K and the Freedom Unlimited for $18K and THEN got overzealous and appd for 1 amex, 1 citi, and penfed and chase closed her accounts before she got to activate the cards because of recent inquiries.  No one here thought it would be a problem, but it turned out it was. .... So just be cautious.  Not sure there is rhyme or reason but she had no new cards or credit in 24 months prior to going to chase and the letter stated credit seeking so they apparently took a 2nd look Smiley Sad

Re: Thinking to go on application spree or should I garden?

Interesting, so maybe chase sent me this offer before my recent two new cards were added last month. I just checked if I had prequal offer on their website and it doesn't show anything now even though I have invitation number offer in the mail. Anyone think I should not apply for this one now?

App Chase first because of 5/24.

Re: Thinking to go on application spree or should I garden?

Easier said than done but 2 apps every 6 months is ideal. It won't have a huge impact on your scores plus you won't look like you are seeking credit in the lenders eyes. That will translate to higher SL with your scores and income.

If I were you I'd apply for the CSP and then for the Quicksilver.

Then I'd chill out on applications for 3 to 6 months or more.

And FYI, Capital One is inquiry sensitive, too, and they triple pull.

BofA Cash Rewards VS $10,000

Re: Thinking to go on application spree or should I garden?

Right beware of the triple pull with Cap1. You app anything with them, make sure it's worth it to you, as well as be certain your chances for approval appear more likely.
