Total Rewards App 7-10 Days..

So, after reading the boards the last week or so and reading up on the BT offers that Comenity offers, I got intrigued.  Like many other comments I've come by, seems like only reason a lot of people want one of their Visa's are for these awesome offers.  Noticed I was getting the SG and WS offers now, but really no use for them outside of the possibility of the offers.  The TR is/was the only one I could really make any use out of outside of the offers, but couldn't get it to pop.  Responded to the Comenity CLI thread basically saying the same and shortly after logged into TR and it popped!  Filled it out and got the 7-10 message.  Snooping around, seems like it isn't all that uncommon to get with the Visa's and typically a verification issue.  I also did attempt to make sure my EQ was unfrozen like it should be, but was getting errors on EQ during the time, where I'm not now.  So not sure if that played some part of it or not.

I'm thinking it may be the verification thing because when I call in and give my SS# and zip, it comes back with account information of $0 balance, due, payment.  Tried it with a wrong zip and came back indicating no account could be found.  Realize I could try and talk to CS, but not wanting to mess with it right this second.  Figured I'd post and get some opinions on if the fact it is coming back with information seems favorable as I believe, before I call and attempt to find out if they'll give me any kind of information tomorrow.

Either way, definitely to the garden I go now for the foreseeable future.

Most likely a verification issue although i wouldn't be obtaining more than 1 comentity card myself within a year span.. I see you have other cards they issue, hopefully those card are older and not new or a good chance if approved for this one it could be shut down right after approval.  Also majors with comenity usually need a 680+ score not sure where yours sit and they need to have access to experian and equifax..  As they HP one and SP the other so if one of those were locked it will be a denial.  Best of luck

Thanks.  Scores in sig are accurate, so kinda right on the cusp of approval territory.  EX, I never have frozen and TU/EQ I unfroze on Friday until tomorrow.  Just found it odd that when I went to check EQ for sure after, their site was having issues and I couldn't see if for sure.  Can now and seems like the report was still unfrozen.  The store cards I have are all 1y6|7m old.  All got at the same time like Fall of '17.  Lucked out I think.  PPC was Fall of last year, I believe.  Not sure how exactly they look upon that now.  Read up on all of the stuff, think I should be safe and don't plan on applying for any more majors for them, as I really have no use for them and same can be said about any more store cards.  And like I said, plan on gardening for the foreseeable future now too, so not too terribly worried about any AA from all that I read.

Got a little curious and called the SG number and entered my information and came back with the same speal when I entered the wrong zip with TR, no account found.  So, kinda makes me think the TR reporting back $0's with the right stuff, is indication that an account was created and it is verification.  Will try to find out for sure tomorrow by calling in.  Like I said, was just curious what the communities thoughts on it were.  Robot wink

IME, regarding the Orbitz Visa, very similar scenario.  The automated system confirmed something on file (account-wise), but that's about it.  Once I received the verification letter, I contacted them as they verified additional information and the account was finalized.

Couple year back, I apped for the TRV and was denied.  I had a fraud alert on all files. Commenity HPd EQ. Also SPd EX.  Rejection letter listed the report they were using was from INNOVIS.

Comenity computers have serious issues with FAs. If you have them, make sure your contact phone numbrs are listed on them for verification

>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Cool beans!  Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I just get told no payment due on no due date, no previous payment; what I meant by the '$0's'.  Can't get any other information out of the automation and the stuff I did try, led me to CS and they just said I had to wait for the letter.  I'll report back when I know for sure.   If it is verification, along with you having a similar experience, could be a way for people to tell what their Comenity 7-10 message means for them.

I don't, but thanks!  I wasn't even sure how you'd go about getting one associated with your reports, let alone how to set one up until I was messing around with EQ trying to figure out whether my report was frozen or not for this and came across it.  Robot LOL

Typically, the available credit and/or CL aren't released or unrestricted until verification occurs.   Once that step is completed, activation of the CC will release the available credit.   As for the 7-10 message, that's actually a toss up.   Some are additional verification instances (such as your situation) while others will be a decline.

Let us know the outcome.

Yeah, but I was saying if you call in with the 7-10 and it reports some sort of information as it did in your case and if it does it in mine, could be a way to determine what it means.  Unless of course it does this even on 100% declines too.  Again, all assuming that mine is verification and not the latter.

Submit app > 7 - 10 message > NO account information found = Decline!  Smiley Sad
Submit app > 7 - 10 message > Something gets reported back* = Verification

* Again, just a hunch and totally presuming that they don't still create something 100% of the time at the point of initial application submission.

Apologies if you got what I was suggesting.  Wasn't sure with your post.  My initial read took it as you thought I was confused that a 7-10 could be a bad thing too or something else other than verification.   Either way, hope that makes it more clear what I was suggesting earlier.

No worries, I undertood your logic.

What I would say, for the bolded items, is that there is still a 7-10 day instance that may not have account information to confirm (when calling the automated system) but does not always lead to a decline.  This happened several years ago with an A&F CC.  While no additional verification correspondence generated, their internal review and verifications process took a while (almost 3 weeks) and it was eventually approved.  No letter arrived, just the card.  So, it's a great guidance to go by in most situations, but there will always be outliers.
