@Aim_High Thank you for taking the time to share your list of reasons you would consider the card. No 10, in particular, would probably be the biggest driver for me as I'm a heavy Apple Pay user, as well as a regular Uber/Uber Eats user( for Uber I could see myself using my Delta Reserve with the credits as well as this card for cash back) . For now, I'm going to stay committed to, at least, 6 month of gardening so that I can age my newest acct from January in the hopes of taking a stab at USB again.

But I really appreciate the insights, as always 🙏

Yes, @Aim_High has made a good list of [potentially!] positives of the card.  As always, each person has to consider how much weight they would personally give to the individual features.   As a more general example, I don't care about CLIs, so whether or not a card supports SP CLIs is of no interest to me but I know that it is a critical feature for many MyFico users.

In this case, most of the features listed for the Apple card are more "nice-to-have" than "Wow, I need that".

It would be good to have my credit card number and CVV hidden, but since I very rarely use the physical card (now in fact only for paying for parking at a hospital!) and Samsung Pay provides a different number, it's not that important, and I have never been concerned about the look of a card.  For me, it's all about rewards, and 2/3% for mobile pay isn't going to cut it.   But others will weigh differently!

Well that, and to get 2% CB you need to use Apple Pay, if you use the physical cards you will only get back 1% CB. There a few stores that card offers 3% CB like the Apple Store, Nike.com, T-Moblie, but thats its. No sign-up bonus, but also no fees of any kind. IMO its a Ok card.

Thanks @citymunky I didn't realize that. They really want you to use Apple Pay clearly. Thanks for the extra insight. I think I'll just garden until 2025 and look for better cards.

Yea they want you use their Apple Pay. I forget to add to get the 3% CB for the select retailers you of course have to use...... Apple Pay.

What a pain!!!!

I rather prefer using applepay, so much easier than trying to remember where the correct card is while at the register.

I was skeptical at first but now I eye roll when they have no Apple Pay. I really like the full transaction details built right into it even when using cards other than AppleCard.

The time, address, a map and often a picture of the business makes it a lot easier to go oh yea that was that burrito truck I foolishly stopped to eat at.

  • IMO, the Apple Card User Interface is far more feature-packed and superior to the UI found on almost any other card.  Not to mention that it's intuitive.

Yup Yup Yup

When we discuss credit cards on My FICO, it's easy to get blinded by how much we differ between ourselves and what we find valuable in a card.  That perspective runs the gamut from our lifestyles, spending habits, preferences for points or miles or cash, priority on optimizing rewards versus simplicity, and so many other factors.  And yes, part of that equation is like Capital One said so well, "What's in Your Wallet?"  Smiley Tongue  Hence, this is why I sometimes defend cards or lenders for their redeeming features and from my own experience.   For example, the 2/3% for mobile pay not cutting it ... mainly applies for those who would carry a US Bank Altitude Reserve, have high mobile pay, and are willing and able to redeem the 3% mobile wallet for 4.5% in RTR for travel.  On the other hand, for someone without a physical 2% card, the Apple card offers awesome rewards at 2% on mobile pay!  Smiley Very Happy

Maybe someday most (or all) cards will come with no visible numbers or CCV to steal, but we aren't there yet.  I still think that's a great feature among others, and it's pretty unique.  I did a web search and there are only a handful of cards worldwide with no physical numbers.

IMO, no credit card is really a "GOT to have that" card.  All features, perks, and rewards are just nice to have, not essential.  Plus, they are perishable; lenders can and will change their programs, for better or for worse.
