I don't think so... the CARD act generally prohibits raising an AF in the first year, even at a customer's request.

In any case you would miss out on the PRG bonus, which can be lucrative. 

If you want the PRG, why not just apply for it?

I thought I'd have the highest approval odds w/ Green, but after getting approved I read on here and it seems like the pre approvals are pretty solid 

The three pre approvals shown were for Green, PRG and Delta Gold.

I went for the Green and Delta Gold..

The underwriting criteria is the same for all of Amex's charge cards.  There is no difference as you go 'up' in levels.  But as UncleB states, you cannot just product change to the PRG because of the card act.  If you really want that card, find one of the 50K MR point offers and apply. If it's showing as preapproved, 99% you will be approved.  But you should wait for a bit because  not likely that Amex will approve for 3 cards in a short period of time.  Wait 3-6 months and then apply.

Does AMEX typically waive the annual fee for the first year when I upgrade?

Would Amex get nervous with so many new cards in such a short period of time? Could it trigger a FR or closure of an account?

Regarding @jj750's question, I am curious also, since I got all my new AMEX cards last July. I have only read FR on AMEX once on the boards. I hope AMEX doesn't take back my cards!
