Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

I had 3 additional cards in 12 months, and my 5k approval was due to "credit seeking" per UW. Also instant approval
I'm not sure if OP would fare like me or your daughter, so if it's important to them, they can base their decision on different experiences

Also, if they looked past a year, I was carnage/24.

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

Ok so thinking of applying for myself today. TU 785. New accounts 0/6 0/12 4/24 (unless you count USB biz from May this year). Inquiries 3/6 and 6/12. AAoA 5 years 11 mos.

How are my chances?

As good as can be. Even the USB biz app is old enough at six months where I don't think they'll question it. YMMV on it being an immediate approval but you should be solid to get it

Thanks for the fast reply. I was thinking the only way to get her a relationship with a chance of getting approved soon (and me getting an AR too), is for me to apply for AR now with the hopes of approval. Then I could open a deposit account with her as a joint owner. I'm like 95% set on applying today.

The time factor is due to her having recently gotten the no-AF aspire offer earlier this month, so she'll need to apply for AR before amex reports the new card. Plus she's been gardening (TU pulls 0/12, score 760, accounts 4/24 and 0/12). If she waits another 6 months after the aspire it'll hold up the other cards she wants to get.

Yikes....denied! Applied online just now. "At this time, we are unable to approve your application based on the information you have provided."

I would recon the decision tomorrow unless their credit department is open today. Unless there's something I'm not aware on your credit profile that made them second guess you should have at least got a pending decision, totally didn't see the denial coming

Anything on your Sagestream/ARS reports that would give them pause perhaps?

Unfortunately I haven't the foggiest of what Sagestream/ARS have on me. Ever since I found out that freezing them would lead to USB denials, I haven't paid attention to them. Will definitely call recon tomorrow (they're closed today) to see what's what, but from what I've seen it appears as though chances are slim with that route. I can only assume the denial is because USB didn't like the number of inquiries I have, or it could be some strange Sagestream/ARS issue?

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

The only things I can see them giving pause would be the inquiries or perhaps your apps from the last two years in total. But it's strange that back in May they approved you for a biz card so it's why I'm scratching my head here unless the UW really is that much stricter

The biz card in question is the Skypass, and I've heard that UW might be more lenient for USB cobranded cards. Maybe that would explain the Skypass approval?

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

Perhaps. Hopefully when you call in tomorrow you'll get some answers and perhaps even an approval waiting for you
