Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

Yikes, indeed!
Call them tomorrow and see why it was denied. Some denials can be reconed, while others are "try again later"
If they allow recon, there is usually another HP. One other thing, even if recon works, dont be surprised if you get a bit lowballed on SL.

It's ok if they give me a low limit, as long as they give me something lol

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

Ok so called UW, and the agent I spoke to said I was specifically denied due to my high number of inquiries. Then she proceeded to list them off and asked what they were for. I said one was for a credit limit increase and played dumb on the others (actually biz card applications). She actually stole some of my thunder when she said they didn't look like they were auto loan applications (I had wanted to use that actually). She did however, say she'd send it to a manager for review, which would be done within 2-3 business days. "I can't guarantee anything, though", were her exact words.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Still surprised she could see the nature of the inquiries, because when I got my TU report just prior to applying yesterday (to review it as a last second check), the report didn't list the nature of the inquiries.

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

At least you got some answers so if it still comes back as a denial you know what you need to work on

How far back did she go back listing the pulls? 12 months, 24 months, etc?

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

She went back 12 months. If it's still denied, not sure if I'll try again later... too many other good cards out there! Will try to get back on the Citibiz grAAvy train (they pull TU for me), I think that's worth more than an AR. Other cards I'm looking at: AS biz (just opened a BoA biz checking acct to hopefully get eligible), and a few consumer cards I'm interested in (chase Marriott to PC to RC, sapphire MDD next September, BoA VS and WoH and Aspire at some point).

However, I'm still going to try and open a deposit account jointly with my wife at a USB branch when we visit California for Thanksgiving, in order to get her eligible for the AR. My wife's got 0 inquiries and 0 new accounts in the last 12 months (due to focusing on Amex and Chase biz cards*), so I'm hoping her chances will be better than mine.

*chase only pulls EXP where we live

I didn't even realize this was still possible and yet checking it out it is. Learn something new every day lol

As for your plan sounds good really if this app falls through. Sounds like it should be good to go when you're ready to pull the trigger on your wife's credit

Re: US Bank Altitude Reserve Question

Still denied on recon. Spoke to UW and I was specifically told that either 2 or 3 inquiries in one year is too many to be approved for AR. Whether it's 2 or 3 depends on other factors in the persons report.

That seems like odd information specific to inquiries. I had a TON of inquiries going into my application (lots of auto, one mortgage preapproval, 2x credit card inquiries).

Interesting data point nonetheless.

I think the info I was given is still valid for your experience. I'm assuming the rep I spoke to meant CC inquiries, and you would still fit with the 1-2 inquiry max then.
