I applied to the USB AR before finding out they were closing new applications. I received an denial for too many recent inquiries. Surprisingly they pulled EX here in Texas. I have read they pull EQ here. I am 6/12 in with inquiries. I explained to the credit CSR that they are 5 of them are mortgage inquiries due to rate shopping and I am 0/12 in new accounts. She said she will submit this to underwriting, it will take them 2-3 days to review, and I will receive a letter shortly after.
Has anyone had recent experiences with recon? If approved, would I see it in my banking portal before the letter? US Bank appears quite old school. Reconsideration goes to a manual process and they let you know by mail. There was not anyone I could speak to directly about reconsideration.
EX 728 (recent drop due to new mortgage on file)
0/12 acccounts, 4/24
6/12 inquiries, 9/24
Crossing my fingers as this is a card I have wanted for quite awhile.
You provided CSR legitimate and good reasoning for inquiries. Depending on rest of profile, your odds are good when UW does MR. Good luck!!!
I think there were at least two who got approved on recon when inquiries were truly the only obstacle.
Fingers crossed it works for you!
I am not sure how their UW may have changed with the current situation, but when I applied, my banker didn't seem to feel inquiries were that important an issue. As you stated, 5 were for shopping a mortgage. I think the 0/12 new accounts should work well for you.
FYI, you will see it in your banking portal long before you receive a letter. They are not the most expeditious bank.
Good luck.

Thank you for your feedback. I hope so!
I have been trying to change my address online and U.S. Bank won't let me but I just received this message today:

Oddly, I did not receive this message when I applied, I just tried to change the address and it said it could not locate my address. I'm not sure if this correlates to an incoming approval or not but I'm crossing my fingers. I don't see the card yet in the portal.
*tapping fingers impatiently*
Approved with a 5k credit line.
Locked as OP posted approval in Approval section.
