Link has been sitting on my sidebar, but new account so not going through with it anytime soon. Does start with a page asking about income and assets then "continue to housing".
Seems all over the place, but is there any idea of a timeline for when it might be a SP increase vs HP? Is the language actually changing anymore?
6-7 months has been beneficial for me.
Just tried and got an increase instantly (from 4 to 8k). There is no indication of hard pull.

@Anonymous, Congratulations on your Increase!
My Us Bank Platinum card says this when I try the link for CLI
"By submitting a credit limit increase request, you authorize us to obtain a copy of your credit bureau report which may affect your score."
This looks like a hard pull right?
Also, if I were to go ahead and do this today the 30th, and get the CLI approved, would it be reported to the bureaus since they like to report card activity on the last day of the month? I might just have missed the reporting maybe? It is 4:27pm Central Standard Time.
Thanks

It can be either or as far as the inquiry. Some individuals get approved via SP while others get HP - YEMV.
Although anything is possible, if approved, this may not reflect until the next reporting cycle. Only way to know for sure is if/when you pull the trigger.

I recently made a large payment to this card.
I wonder if the SP depends on something like payment history etc before they do a HP.
If they have to do a HP, I am guessing they do not allow you to choose whether you want to go ahead with the CLI request?
Also, does US Bank do off cycle reporting that I could request If I did get a CLI, but it was not included in this month's reporting?
I wonder if Citi and Discover do Off Cycle reporting as well.
Thanks again.

I wonder if the SP depends on something like payment history etc before they do a HP. A variety of factors are considered, not just internal payment history. No one has figured out what their algorithms do.
If they have to do a HP, I am guessing they do not allow you to choose whether you want to go ahead with the CLI request? Nope. You spin the wheel and see the results.
Also, does US Bank do off cycle reporting that I could request If I did get a CLI, but it was not included in this month's reporting? I'm not sure, but someone can confirm.
I wonder if Citi and Discover do Off Cycle reporting as well. Discover has been known to do so. Citi does not.
Thanks again.
See above.
Do I need to unfreeze my credit bureaus? Also, is the general consensus that a CLI request under 6 months is probably a no? My card reaches 6 months at the end of the month and I will probably wait, but just curious...
Normally it is every six months and starts at the beginning of the following month.
You do not have to unfreeze CR if a SP CLI is due.
I just did one myself on the 1st of this month and the increase request was indeed a SP. I tried several days towards the end of last month. Each request was denied.
