I unfroze my TU file today and did the pre approval for the US Bank Go card. It came back pre approved, but without a starting limit or APR.
I haven't accepted, because if I did open a US Bank card, I'd rather have the Reserve. Does this pre approval bode well for all their cards? I only have a money market account with them right now with a small balance, and did have a secured card with them a decade ago, which I closed on good terms when I no longer needed it.

you can call and ask them if there's information on the limit and apr from the pre-approval

Ah, that's good to know - I assume if the SL is at least $5k, I might be good for the Reserve?
I might just call them, then...
I may not be looking in the correct place but where is the pre approval located. Thank You

Preapproval is only offered on select cards. If you visit their site, select a card....a few offer the "preapproval" banner at the top of the page. Those without the banner....aren't part of the preapproval process/opportunity
Update: I'm playing the waiting game with US Bank. I followed through with the app for the Go card, and received the 7-10 days message. I called later in the day and spoke with a rep who didn't seem to know what he was doing. He said, though, that it looked like it was approved.
After not getting any further communication today, I called again and this time spoke with UW. She said there were 2 apps: 1 associated with the preapproval, which she said I had not "accepted", and 1 from my application, which she said was cancelled as being a duplicate of the first? She then said if I was still interested, she would reactivate one of them for processing and to give it a day or two.
Very strange, so now I wait.

And?
I wasn't pre approved for the Altitude Connect (probably too many recent inquiries - I'm currently 2/6 and 4/12) but I'm trying to figure out how strict their 0/6 and 1/12 rules are - theres definitely some data points that suggest it's flexible.

@BENAir01 I didn't realize this was a rule for USB but if confirmed I wouldn't test the theory unless you're comfortable burning the hard inquiry just to find out. Was pre-approved for the card at 0/6 and 1/12 with pretty high utilization/mediocre scores so thats within the requirement. But no go on a second card. Although the rep was extremely helpful explaining the issue so fairly confident I can be approved for Cash+ in 6 - 12 months.

Do you have an existing relationship with US Bank? Flexibility with the 0/6 and 1/12 guidelines usually pertain to customers with positive US Bank history.
