Yes, I'm supposed to be gardening, but since joining this board, I've realized the virtues of the Uber Visa. Unfortunately, I've recently realized the virtues of many other cards as well, and have opened up a few other revolvers over the last three weeks. I know Barclays isn't app spree friendly, and I'm wondering if it's worth applying or simply packing it up for a couple of years to clean my slate. Here are (what I think are) the relevant data points:
- Added 5 tradelines since April 25
- With $100k in credit limit
- But only 2 inquiries were on Transunion
What are my chances?
- FICO8s in the 730s.
I started a little collection back in March for some pending charges that would warrant some SUB action and apped for several cards of which most were approved. After which I met my goals for SUB's I turned to the next cycle of charges coming up and thought WTH let's pick up the Uber for an easy $100. Apped, instant approved, got 11K, made a phone call for 25K and shipped with 25K printed on the insert.
So, I picked up 5 cards including Uber.
My rejections were mostly geo-restricted apps with a few lenders and 1 lender for 5+ inquiries on EX
Oh, the 2nd Barclay's app on the same day auto denial
Needless to say you know the potential issues of AA after approval... I'd say if you have a use for it then go for it.
@VanderSnoot You may have a chance if no more than one or two of those TLs are reporting.
With that said, you already included one twitchy lender (Chase) in your 5 card spree. Do you really want to add another one?
I think if you continue, the possibility of AA is real, especially since you already have 4 delinquencies in the past two years.
If I were you, I'd stop right now.

I’m going to say this is probably one to wait for. Maybe just one year, not two. This one is also on my radar as well, but I think I need to wait a bit longer, so as to not risk a low starting limit.
There’s truth to this. I think you WOULD get it, but the SL could be low.

BarclaycardUS is a bear that doesn't like to be poked that takes a lot of interest in both inquiries and new accounts but tends to focus on the previous 6 months.
IMO you should garden for 6 months and then apply if you still want the card.

+1
Cooler heads prevail. Glad I asked.
