Hi everyone, I've been reading up quite a bit and only found a couple snippets of info on this. I am graduating this December and have already accepted a full time job offer that I will begin sometime during the spring.
I am looking into applying for a travel card as I want to do a fair amount of traveling in my time off. Ideally, I would want to apply for the Sapphire Reserve card or the preferred if CSR is out of reach but not sure if it would be worthwhile. I would only stand a chance if I put my future salary as income, has anyone done this or know if it is acceptable to do? Getting the card now would also make it easier to hit the $4000 spend if I have it to put my travel expenses on. Some other background
Oldest card is about 3 years old, co-signed by a parent-CL $5000
Authorized user of a Sapphire Preferred
The remainder are in my name only
AMEX Blue Cash preferred-CL $8800
Chase Freedom Unlimited-CL $3400
Transunion-769
Equifax-770
FICO-764
Future Salary-$60,0000 + bonus + investment income
Welcome to the board. It does not work that way thus, putting a future income on the application. Also, you don't want to try something like that with Chase of all banks. Put whatever income you have now on the application.

OP, please listen to this advice.
Card will still be there when you actually have your job in the spring. Honesty is the best policy.
I appreciate the responses everyone. I agree honesty is the best policy and I'd never outright lie on an application. I was just more curious as to what acceptable methods were for arriving at gross income. Whether it be your TTM income, current paychecks just annualized, or future 12 months, etc.
Typical income verification is current paychecks or previous years tax info.
Think of it this way, they only want verifiable income and you have no way to prove future income.
Hey, am I the only one who thinks he'll get an approval? I think your current file supports it, however the SL may be iffy. You can NEVER go wrong by waiting a few months however. Sound advice you've received here. Best of luck, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.
