Good Morning Friends,
Just did a Pre App and got this back. Any thoughts on which is better? I already get some good travel rewards from my AMEX PRG, but looking to get your take and experience on either or both of the cards.
Thanks in advance
I would sy whichever sounds best for you. Venture one comes with a pro of no AF, but con of only 1.25 miles per dollar. Venture comes with con of $95 AF (after first year it looks like) but a Pro of 2 miles per dollar. I for one, do not worry too much about the sign up bonus. Yes they are nice, but they are a one time bonus, I looks for what I am going to gain from the card 3 years down the road when I look at cards.
Also, not sure on the Venture One, which From what I understand is an easier one to get. Looks like you are pre approved for the Venture, but I notice the "You may also be interested in" lingo. I know Creditors put things like this in their pages to make you think you are pre approved, when in reality you may not be, if anyone else can chime in on this.
However, if you are pre approved for the Venture, I would say you will have no problem getting a Venture One if you choose that route.
Best of luck, we travel a lot and this is my goal card! I have an AMEX delta gold now which is nice, as we usually fly delta if it is a delta hub area (Sioux Falls is generally my home airport, which will fly delta to MSP and go from there) , but we also fly cheaper airlines to places like vegas and phoenix (Allegiant) that I could use this card on.
Get the Venture, spend 3k to get the bonus and product change or cancel before the annual fee hits. None of those cards worth keeping.
I think @dmjohnson brings up a good point. It seems you are pre-approved for only the Venture but I suppose if you can get that one, you can get the One one as well.

If you prequalified for Venture, you should be able to get Venture1 or Savor; all depends on what you want.
V1 wouldn’t be as good as Savor or a QS
Thanks for the feed back, I have the QS so I am thinking the Venture is the way to go.

They do give good SL on Venture; could always PC later on
Do you know if the Venture has a minimum staring SL? Maybe it is the one of the VISA Signature cards I am thinking about, but I thought this one has a starting SL of 10k or something like that.
