To my understanding they pull EQ so I had no idea they will need to access my EX report had I known this I would have taken the freeze off but you learn something new everyday

Yeah, I wouldn't have known that they would do that either and my comment really isn't directed at you.  I've seen lots of people get denied or their approval held up because  they had a report(s) frozen and the creditor did something unexpected and pulled a different bureau than expected.

Comenity is famous for this...  They use some third party and Exp must be unfroozen even though it is just a SP, really weird.. Don't understand it myself, just read up on it before through this site and found out possible reasons for denials and Experian/Eq being froozen was it as they HP one and SP the other.  For some reason the SP won't go through by their method with a freeze in place.  Live and learn.  Hopefully it still works out for you somehow

Hopefully CA or B can comment on this as they both have had this issue to I believe and I believe that is how I found out about this.

While I have no experience with reports being frozen, I can say for sure that when I app'd for PayPal Credit, I got a HP on EQ and a SP on EX. I haven't app'd for any of their Visa/Mastercards, but I can only imagine they will do the same thing for them.

Re: Virgin America???

There's always a possibility they will pull from a different report so why not unfreeze them all before apping?

Sorry to hear that. Did they say the reason for denial? Also, were you pre-approved for this card or did you cold app?

Re: Virgin America???

She wouldn't tell me the reason but the rep I spoke to before I was transferred told me they had to ask some security questions which they never did because I have my other reports frozen smh... She said I'll get a letter explaining why.... And no pre-approval I just applied
