Sucks that I still dont know what I prequalified for and I am just not willing to check again online. I get the prequals in the mail all the time so ill just keep my eye out if something interesting comes along.

I did the preapproval yesterday and a hp showed up on my EQ report this morning! I'm calling them now. Grrrr.

I ran the preapproval again this morning, made a selection, got approved (after having to provide ID verification), and now I'm waiting for the HP notifications.

Has anything happened? HP gone? Pre-qualified? Approved?

Not yet, waiting for MyFico/CK/Experian to update report. Im still hesitant to check if I prequal and or apply, I just let it go for now. 

Once HP is gone ill let yall know

Update: I called Discover and they said that I would have to dispute with EQ. So I did the dispute online. 11 days and I still haven't heard anything, HP is still showing up. Should I be calling Discover back?

Correct me if I'm wrong but even in error does HP still stick I've not heard of anyone really able to remove a HP... From my own experiance I never could get one removed even sending a letter.

Well that would be pretty unfair. I only did the preapproval checker, didn't actually apply for anything and it clearly says it will not affect my score and it did.

disputing an inquiry with a dispute to the CRA will comeback as inquiries are factual etc and nothing will happen.. You will have to get ahold of someone at discover and raise enough H*ll to get it recoded to a SP.  No one ever will get a inquiry removed disputing it with a CRA, never heard of it happening
