So, I know I am supposed to be gardening for home purchase, but I know my credit file isn't as clean as DH -- and he will probably have to put the home in his name only -- doesn't bother me.
Anyways -- that being said -- I know I had been denied Amazon last month (Dec. 7) -- tried recon last night with no success -- I know they don't, but I still tried. I have had them before (I think?) It may have been exAU...I can't remember.
SO -- I tried Walmart - I have seen people starting out with small limits -- with similar scores.....
And got the 7-10 message with reference #.
Any chance I should call in case its not hard denial?
This is my last app...just in case I can get my reports clean in time for summer.
Synchrony doesn't recon AFAIK.
Walmart was one of my original rebuild accounts in mid 2013... $600 SL and I got a $100 and $200 CLI over the course of a year... impressive right?
I closed the account last month when I got Sallie Mae...
I hear all the time about the 4 month CLIs with Synchrony but it didn't happen to me... I guess my scores were too high.
So do you think the 7-10 is instadenial? or as Synch calls it a "hard denial"?
When i called for Amazon, he said there was nothing he could do because it was a "hard denial".....almost thought I was getting recon for a minute when he put me on hold to "review my app"...
Just wondering if its worth the phone call or not, or if I should just wait for the letter....
It wouldn’t hurt to give them a call, all you know it could just be a verification issue. Someone’s personal opinion shouldn’t deter you, many have positive experiences some are negative. I’ve had my Walmart CC a year now; it went from 900 to 2000. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
If the reference number doesn't include a phone number to call it's an instant denial with sync.

Bummer -- I can't remember if it listed a phone number or not, but I did make note of the ref. number.
I know it is probably a denial. I am sure I am on the GE blacklist from years ago....but I have no way of knowing.
I know my scores arent the best and I currently have a few baddies....I was just hoping I could get in...
Oh well. Guess I will wait to see what the letter says

Hang in there.. There is some love coming your way soon. Sorry about the denial.
IMHO you need to garden what you have.
No apps for a minimum of 6 months... preferably a year. It's not that difficult if you are motivated to improve your credit. You have enough credit to rebuild your scores... so garden what you have and try again in 2016.
That's the plan.
I just figured I would try and see. But I am done now.
I know there is nothing out there right now for me I can get my hands on -- so that is just more motivation for me to get to where I need to be so I CAN get approvals.
Hopefully having AU on DH accounts will help as well.
Here's to at least 6 months of reading -- and wishing! lol

Thats a good plan. It can be very depressing getting into all these snags. But gardening is key in the credit game. A time will come and you will laugh at all these rejections and even ask yourself, what was i thinking. That time comes for everyone. It just takes time.
