Re: Walmart Denial?

I would recon. If there are extenuating circumstances. Whilst on the phone, if you're still denied, ask nicely for consideration for the store card. The worst they can say is "no"...

Re: Walmart Denial?

I have applied recently to Walmart with a 608 TU score with only 1 credit card from Credit One bank reporting with 36% untilization, and my student loan with one late from 2 years ago. There is nothing else on my report. I called and tried to recon and they said no since it was denied due to items on my credit report. When I got the reason for denial this is what it said:

HIGH RATIO OF REVOLVING ACCTS OPENED LAST YEAR TO ALL REVOLVING ACCTS

TOO FEW ACCOUNTS CURRENTLY PAID AS AGREED ACCOUNTS IN COLLECTION OR 60 DAYS PAST DUE OR ADVERSE PUBLIC RECORDS

AVERAGE RATIO OF REVOLVING BALANCES TO CREDIT LIMITS IS TOO HIGH

Re: Walmart Denial?

Sometimes I really really think they just make up reasons for denials idk I have gotten letters with denial reasons that were way off from what my reports show .

Re: Walmart Denial?

Same here, I called and asked them why are they giving me bogus reasons for denial, they told me that they dont have an answer and to dispute the info with the CB.

Re: Walmart Denial?

I think Wal-Mart and Synchrony are bosom buddies of the credit world. Wal-Mart is run like their employees are stupid and Synchrony is run like the consumer is stupid...

However, I will say that having a 608 score with one CC at that util and having a late on your student loan would set off a flag anyways. Practice good credit with what you have and wait a while before you apply with them or anyone else.

Just my opinion.

Re: Walmart Denial?

Thanks for the info, I am going to wait until around Dec, by then I will have 3 other cards reporting, and I have 2 auto loans that I just got last month, so hopefully with all of that reporting positive they will give me a shot!
