No further contact from Synchrony/Walmart but, MyFICO alert today shows new account $1.2K SL. Wonder if I can get a CLI  &/or MC upgrade when the card actually arrives

Congrats. No chance of upgrade when you get the card. They don't allow consumer requested upgrades. they will offer it to you however in the future after some history. But no one knows when. Honestly. Before they converted from Discover to MasterCard. upgrades were being offered between 6 months to a year. Now. its already been a year. (August). since the switch. And very i mean very few has gotten upgraded. Most have just applied for a second card. and got the mastercard that way. But the risk is to have 2 store cards. Its just how synchrony rolls. Not just at walmart. But many of their cards. pay pal included. If you don't qualify for top tier. They give you consolation prize. if not denial.

It will snow in Miami during August before I apply to Walmart again...! I honestly can't imagine ever taking advantage of their 0% offers since even the higher end brands they sell are the junk versions

I can understand Disliking them. however there are a few things i buy from them. I bought my Eyeglasses there. as they were half of LenseCrafters or VisonWorks. Small things for house hold. And there are some benfits to the card. The free Transunion Fico for one of them. outstanding. it updates way faster than here at myfico. Also the Cash over purchase is not bad. up to $120 dollar of cash at 0percent. not even considered Cash advance just purchase. so it is not that bad. I do agree. i have a 5k strore card. not in siggy. I use it and pay very slow. in hopes of getting upgrade. If not. it will die a slow death like my Macy's.

I'm all for diversity but, every employee, legal or illegal, should speak English, "no comprende" is BS in ANY retail store in the USA.. Don't give that "Happy Face" crap
