Re: Wanting to apply for Freedom and Hyatt.

If they only give you 1k on Slate a month ago, I personally will not go with other Chase card and wait at least 6 months. But good luck if you apply.

Re: Wanting to apply for Freedom and Hyatt.

Well back in Nov2014, I got approved for Freedom, and really didn't know who own Amazon Visa I apped for that and got denied instantly.  Yea that was the second app after Freedom.  Don't remember the exact wording on that letter of denail, but it basically was saying I just apped for the Freedom and it was too soon.  Since then I'm thinking its been 6months, let me go try for the CSP also I was interested in, and got the dreadful letter stating too many new accts within 2 years.  Guess I'll never have another card with Chase besides the Freedom, LOL I'm done with trying.  Maybe they will PC my Freedom one day.

Cain are you pre approved on Chase website? I guess the limit on the Slate shouldn't matter a whole lot. It's not a high limit card for some reason.

Try it. I posted this question too but haven't received any responses. I was approved about 5 hrs ago for the Slate. I'd love A CSP, but was afraid to pull the trigger. I have 3 new cards I opened in February reporting, and I just picked up about 10 new CC's over the last two weeks. Obviously none of these new cards are reporting yet, but the INQ's sure are. I've got EX 10, TU 4, EQ 5 showing currently. I was hoping to app for the CSP.

I just noticed Chase pulled EX and TU for my Slate app on May 1st. I didn't check EQ, but do they normally pull all three? I thought they only pulled 1 bureau...

When they denied me for the Freedom last year they pulled both EQ and EX. When they approved me last weekend, (on recon), they pulled EQ at least. They didn't pull TU, but I don't know about EX. Interesting data point: When they denied me the first time they came up with a CARS score of 666. This time, also a denial initially, the CARS score was 726.

Yes, after not having any pre-approvals for some time, probably due to opt out, I now have a pre-approval for Freedom and CSP. These appeared only after I opened the Slate.

Chase preapprovals are pretty solid. I don't have experience applying for two in one day though.

Re: Wanting to apply for Freedom and Hyatt.

I had absolutely no prequalified cards from Chase or any other banks, and I made certain I'm "opted in". I applied for Chase Slate yesterday w/8 recent EX INQ's in the past two weeks. I was instantly approved with 5500 CL. Checked this morning and they did pull EX. Every single CC I app for almost always pulls EX, which in my case is great as its my highest score. But, my EX now is breaking double digits for INQ's, while my TU & EQ are at 4 & 5 respectfully. The only bank that didn't pull EX was Wells Fargo (EQ) and Cap One (all 3).
I wanted so much to try a second Chase app yesterday (CSP) for a 2 for 1 HP, but ultimately chickened out. I might go for Citi tonight as my very last CC application for the next year or two. Hoping by having at least 1 CC from many good banks will make it easier in the future to get additional products from them, rather than having alot of products from just a few banks or lender's. Thoughts ???

Re: Wanting to apply for Freedom and Hyatt.

Well, tried to apply for both last night, but I don't believe it worked. I appear for Freedom and got what seemed to be a generic message of you'll get a response in 30 days, whether approved or denied (not exact wording), then tried to apply for Hyatt and upon hitting the apply button it took me to a screen that says your request has been submitted, didn't have to enter any info. Is that normal? I tried calling the status check phone number, but once I enter my info, it doesn't tell me yes/no, just ask if I want to hear that info again, press 7, if I press 7, it skips it again. Guess I have to play the waiting game. Maybe I'll call later and speak to a rep...

Possibly a verification, when I app'd for the Hyatt I got the 10 day message and should be getting a letter in the mail and in certain circumstances could take up to 30. I called the automated line and it said I would get something in the mail within 2 week which usually means a verification. I called the next morning and verified some info and was approved.
